Amanda Seyfried Said Elizabeth Holmes' Prison Sentence Is "Fair," And She Explained Why

Since Amanda played the infamous convicted entrepreneur, I suppose she can give her take on the real-life Elizabeth's fate...

If you know good TV, then you watched Amanda Seyfried tear it up last year as convicted entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes in the Hulu limited series The Dropout.

You probably also know that Elizabeth reported to prison this week to serve an 11-year sentence for fraud charges.

Earlier this month, Elizabeth also told the New York Times her thoughts on Amanda's portrayal of her in The Dropout, as well as other potential film and TV adaptations of her story. “They’re not playing me,” she said. “They’re playing a character I created.”

So it only makes sense that Amanda, in turn, is now offering her take on Elizabeth's prison sentence.

During a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Amanda was asked point-blank what she thought about Elizabeth's fate.

“There’s two kids that are hanging in the balance here. As a parent — just as a mom,” Amanda began in reaction to Elizabeth's prison sentence.

“Life’s not fair, but in a lot of ways, it’s fair. It’s fair for her, in particular.”

Harsh, but — as Amanda would say — fair.
