9 Of My Favorite #SDCC Cosplays From Around The Internet
The best and most original costumes at this year's San Diego Comic-Con
As thousands upon thousands descend on San Deigo every year for Comic-Con, hundreds turn up in elaborate, creative, and impressive costumes. This year was no exception as photos of some these cosplayers' handy work have hit the web. After some exhaustive searching (I went to like half a dozen sites) I am ready to declare my 9 favorite costumes of #SDCC 2015.
Deadpool/Maleficent and Jafar

It seems that Deadpool has become a Comic-Con fan favorite and with good reason. While there are certainly no shortage of regular Deadpools running around the show floor, there are plenty of awesome mashups like these that somehow fit the character's... well... character.
George Lucas
I'm not even at #SDCC and I'm cracking up to the point of tears at the reports of @joshrthompson as #GeorgeLucas
This is truly on the border between cosplay and performance art. I'm sure poor George Lucas' feelings must be hurt... and that he's drying his tears with $100 bills.
Frozen/Fury Road

A mash-up of two surprisingly feminist films — Frozen and Mad Max: Fury Road. Clearly I'm kind of a sucker for Disney-inspired costumes, but they do kind of own all of pop culture now if you think about it...
Powdered Toast Man and Krumm

If you'll remember from your childhood, these two characters aren't actually from the same show. However, Ren and Stimpy's Powdered Toast Man and Aahhh!!! Real Monsters' Krumm kind of work well together. While PTM's mask is crazy detailed, there's something to be said about the simple effectiveness of the Krumm costume. However, I don't think that lady was anywhere around my age when these show's debuted in the 90s.
Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver

Only because I literally did a double take thinking that was actually Aaron Taylor Johnson
Jimmy Buffett

Based on the "Cheeseburger in Paradise" singer's brief cameo in Jurassic World this guy represents the rising trend of meme-based cosplay.
The Belcher Family

Does anyone else find this oddly heartwarming. I can only assume this is a really family cosplaying together as the cast of Bob's Burgers and doing a heck of a job if I do say so myself. Bravo.
Scorpion and Sub-Zero/ Daft Punk

Somehow combining video games and techno music just makes sense. Admittedly it took my a second to fully comprehend the Mortal Kombat element of these costumes — I briefly thought the one of the left doing an allusion to that one Michael Jackson video
Congratulations to these cosplayers on their tremendous prize of being included in this list! May you top yourselves next year and for many Cons to come. As for me, I set my sights to the D23 Expo and to what amazing costumes will emerge from there.
