On Sunday, Casey Affleck won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture in the drama category for his role in Manchester by the Sea.
In the film, the actor plays a character named Lee Chandler who grieves a lot of loss and struggles through family tragedies.
After Affleck's win, some people took to Twitter, citing the sexual harassment allegations that were brought against the actor in 2010.
As well as white privilege.
During awards season, Affleck hasn't commented much on the allegations, but he did tell the New York Times Magazine in November, “It was settled to the satisfaction of all. I was hurt and upset — I am sure all were — but I am over it,” he wrote in an email. “It was an unfortunate situation — mostly for the innocent bystanders of the families of those involved.”
