Prom has sort of turned into a competition of who can ask someone else to be their date in the most creative way...
...hence the name "promposal."
And while you obviously want the person you ask to say "yes," you also hope the execution of the question goes smoothly.
Unfortunately, you can't guarantee either one. Like, this girl who didn't realize she was getting a promposal and flat-out said, "That's a shitty way to ask someone to prom." OOPS.

It is also a big fail if you get rejected. (It's OK, it happens.)
