This Porn Star Revealed What Really Happens Behind The Scenes During Pornos, And People Are Totally Stunned

    It's...Cetaphil?!

Alison Rey has been in the adult film industry for almost seven years.

And Alison has recently been going viral on TikTok for her series revealing industry secrets β€” she uses the term "corn" to censor the word "porn":

In her very first video, she explained that if you see a woman with cum on her face in the thumbnail of an adult video, it is likely just Cetaphil β€” a facial cleanser β€” and not really semen.

To get more insight and behind-the-scenes info, BuzzFeed spoke to Alison, who said she started her "Corn Industry Secrets" series because she wanted to demystify the way the adult film industry works.

"So many of us started watching adult movies far too young and it gave us unrealistic expectations of sex and our sexual partners. My goal is to educate people about what is normal and what is done for aesthetics. Sex education in America is embarrassingly subpar, and too many minors learn about it from inappropriate platforms like PornHub and they don't understand the nuances between fantasy and reality. I think it's about time we change that," she said.

"In general, I think people believe that many performers constantly use mind-altering substances and/or are 'too lazy to get a real job.' (Particularly because they think our job is to simply 'lie on our backs and take a pounding.') On the contrary, most of the people who have successful careers are some of the hardest-working individuals I have ever met," explained Alison.

Alison also said that, because the market is so competitive, performers have to take on multiple roles. "It's a nearly 24/7 job when you consider the amount of new content we need to release every day on multiple platforms, keeping our followers engaged, filming, editing, and uploading said content, coming up with new ideas for content, chatting with subscribers all day on OnlyFans...and that just skims the surface of tasks I do each day. A good work ethic is absolutely needed to be a successful performer."

On her TikTok, Alison talks about how douching with plain water is a common practice in the industry before sex scenes:

"This is done to eliminate any white discharge during a sex scene that might come out with penetration. This is becoming less and less common as consumers desire more amateur and realistic films. But, for a long time, it was considered unsightly to have discharge in a scene (even though it's a sign that your partner is turned on!!). It's true that douching β€” even with just water β€” can upset the natural pH balance of your vagina, so it's not something I would recommend doing at home."

In another one of her videos, Alison explained how sex scenes are filmed while people with vaginas are on their periods:

Most performers will douche out the blood with water and then push a makeup sponge into their vagina. "Some TikTok users asked why we don't use a disc or a cup instead and the answer is simple: they're not absorbent and never readily available on set. The dicks we deal with are usually larger than average and the disc or cup wouldn't necessarily stop blood from being visible, and it's impractical to cut the camera every time we need to clean up a drop of blood," she added.

Alison has also openly talked about how people fast β€” or only eat gummy bears β€” the day before filming anal sex scenes (although she personally has never done one):

"I have a lot of girlfriends who do anal sex and my knowledge comes from their experiences as well as what I have witnessed on set as a production assistant. From my understanding, the majority of women will fast the day before a scene as well as use an enema, sometimes several times before the scene. For some women, the fasting might be all day."

And Alison shares what she knows about the experiences of people with penises, like the fact that they have to be able to basically get aroused on command:

Alison said a lot of performers take Viagra to help stay hard. "While I've never had an experience where a talent couldn't get it down from too much Viagra, I have experienced performers not being able to get it up, despite the amount of Viagra they've ingested already. Most of the time when that happens, the scene gets scrapped and everyone β€” the performers and the entire crew β€” has to go home without getting paid for the day's work."

"Sex workers are being increasingly discriminated against on social platforms for their mere existence. While TikTok's community guidelines state that sexually explicit content is prohibited, exceptions are made for educational purposes. Many of my educational videos have been taken down and denied when I've submitted an appeal. Other actresses have lost their G-rated accounts entirely because of their name and occupation. Meanwhile, influencers are allowed to post lewds to TikTok and nudes to Instagram, educational or not."

"Censoring talk about sex will do nothing but deprive people of information they are looking for, and it has the potential to do more harm than good because the demand for answers is not going away. People may start looking for answers in the wrong places, from people who may hypersexualize them or, alternatively, shame them for their natural sex drives. Understanding sexual health is not obscene," she explained.

Lastly, Alison wishes more of the general public would realize she is just a normal person doing a job β€” and she's not ashamed of her body or sex. "All too often, trolls in the comments will bring up how my 'parents must be proud,' that I'm disgusting, that I have no self-respect, or that I sell my body. When the reality is, in this life, we are all selling something. Our time, our bodies, our knowledge," she said.

"I know that sex is the most natural thing we do as humans, and the shame surrounding it is a social construct and a travesty. Throwing shade in the comments does nothing to my soul. It's simply a reminder that I have grown out of the sexual shame thrust upon me and I am proud of myself for that," she added.
