Brittany Kinley and her husband Jimmy live in Arlington, Texas with their three kids — 5-year-old Mason, 3-year-old Austin, and 1-year-old Calvin.
And Mason — who started kindergarten this year — recently had his very first school picture day. And, let's just say, his picture turned out to be one to remember...
While there were no wardrobe mishaps, there was a little, um, error in the lower left corner:
Imagine staring at a picture of your absolutely adorable kiddo, only to see the text "I DON'T WANT THIS" where their name should be.
BuzzFeed spoke to Brittany, who explained how the mistake happened. "I went online to order the photos and there was a blank for Mason's name to be printed on the photo, but I didn’t want his name on the photo — I just wanted a plain picture. However, it wouldn’t let me bypass that blank to move on with the order, so I wrote, 'I don’t want this' in all capital letters! I never thought it would be printed on the actual photo. When we received them, it was all over the 20 or so photos in the package I ordered," she laughed.
"At first, I was in shock and a little upset because I was so excited to get his first official school photo, but then we all started cracking up laughing because of how funny and appropriate it was for 2020," she said. Brittany then decided to share the photos on Facebook for a laugh:
Her post got so much attention that she didn't even need to tell Mason's teachers about what happened — they had already seen it on social media. "The day after I shared it, all the teachers came out and greeted Mason with a round of applause yelling, 'We DO want this!'"
After Brittany explained the situation to Mason, he thought it was super funny. "Now he asks if he’s still making everyone laugh," she said.
The school is helping Brittany get the photo mistake fixed. Either way, Mason's first school photo is one for the books!
