According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Bacillus cereus bacterium is estimated to cause over 63,000 cases of food poisoning in the United States each year. "However, it's important to note that not all of these cases are Fried Rice Syndrome specifically. It is difficult to know the exact number of cases as most people who get food poisoning are not tested for the source," he added.
