    Matte Is Back!

There's no denying ladies (and gents), matte is back, and it's here to stay.

Anyone who has been keeping an eye on the fashion world, particularly makeup can tell you one thing about the next big trend – Matte. Yes indeed ladies (and gents!), Matte is back.

It all started with matte lipstick, which became popular again on the runways in 2012. Since then, matte nail polish has become popular, and soon matte foundation will be all the rage as well.

During the 2014 New York Fashion Week, many trends were noticed, including the use of matte foundation. This is strikingly different to most fashion weeks, as often during spring there is a tendency for a natural 'dewy' look, rather than a perfected matte one.

Oily skinned women rejoice! This is the perfect type of foundation for you! Not only will it last longer on your skin, it will also reduce the look of the oiliness! That means less touch-ups throughout the day, perfect right?

But all my dry skinned ladies, there's no need to despair! In fact, it is quite easy to make that matte foundation work for you too. All you need to do is make sure you prep your skin properly! And the best way to do that? Moisturise! That's all you really need to do, put a little bit of moisturiser on your skin – only as much so that it feels tacky, and then apply your matte foundation, and voilà, beautiful, flawless matte skin.

So what else can Matte foundation do for you? Several things actually. It reduces attention to fine lines on the skin, making you look younger; it diminishes stronger facial features and evens out your skin tone; and more often than not it has a fuller coverage. That's not to say that dewy foundation doesn't have the ability of full coverage, it's just so much quicker with matte foundation, and who wouldn't love those extra two to three minutes to sleep-in in the morning?

Matte is here, and it's here to stay, so ladies it's time to get practicing. And tell us, what's do you have a favourite matte trend? Let us know in the comments below.
