Following their scandalous (but let's be honest, cool) adventure into Argentina and Clarkson's altercation with the producer of Top Gear, Clarkson, May, and Hammond finally have jobs again.
The excited trio tweeted their approval/disapproval of their new jobs at Amazon just a few hours ago. Good old Brit humor is back. The new show, backed by Amazon dollars (pounds?) is slated to air in 2016 and have a run of 3 years through Amazon Prime. The new program's name hasn't been unveiled but official images from Amazon came with the #Drive2Prime
Just look at the excitement by what they had to say.
The show was dismissed after Clarkson had an altercation with a producer following a night of filming. The addition of past instances that put the show in controversy led the BBC to fire him from the show. One of the most recent and notable examples of trouble was the two hour special of their trip to Argentina that sparked fury over claims that Clarkson's license plate on his car for the special was purposely made to taunt the Argentinians about the 1982 Falklands War (H982 FKL).
Since 2002, the show had been revamped to the comedic and occasionally controversial format it became before its official demise. The original show aired in the 1970s as a normal TV program with mild humor. The show had garnered over 350 million viewers worldwide every week and was aired in over 212 territories. Top Gear was awarded the Most Widely Watched Factual TV Programme by Guinness World Records for 2013.
