A Letter To The Carnivorous People I Love That I Cooked For This Thanksgiving

OR On Being An Anti-Racist Vegetarian In The Midst of Meat On America's Most Genocidal Holiday

I loved helping out this holiday season!

I know how it feels to be stuck on campus for the holidays

No one wants to eat dining hall food for the holidays

So I ran over as fast as possible to help out

Then y'all asked me to fry the chicken and I was like

"One order of cage raised genetically modified organism coming right up."

As soon as I finished, you asked me if I knew how to carve a turkey!

    Y'all bought three turkeys!!!

Afterward we sat down to celebrate colonization

And as I saw you all eating that chicken

I said to myself, "how do I feel about this thing I have done?!"

And I remembered, all of America's celebrations are built off of oppression

My morals will never be safe during the holiday season

But I eventually would have to eat dinner...

And as I looked around at everyone's faces

The chicken was making everyone so happy

    Did I do that?

Everybody wanted a piece of my chicken!

I haven't cooked meat in years but..

And as for coming back again next year?
