    Many name-brand scrubs can contain allergens and known carcinogens! Thankfully, a little elbow grease and this magic scrub will leave your countertops, sinks, and even your stove spotless without the health risks. For really tough jobs, spray with vinegar first and let it sit for a few minutes.

    * 2 cups baking soda

    * 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup liquid castile soap (we recommend one without sodium laureth sulfate or diethanolamine (DEA))

    * 4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin (acts as a preservative)

    * Optional: 5 drops antibacterial essential oil such as lavender, tea tree, or rosemary (or any scent you love!)

    Store-bought detergents can contain hidden fragrance chemicals linked to hormone disruption & allergies or 1,4-dioxane, a chemical linked to cancer. Protect your health with this clean and fresh recipe!

    * 1 cup soap flakes--make by grating your favorite pure vegetable soap with a cheese grater

    * 1/2 cup washing soda

    * 1/2 cup baking soda

    * Optional: 1-2 tbsp. oxygen bleach (for extra whitening power)

    Mix ingredients together and store in a glass container. Use 1 tablespoon per load (2 for super dirty laundry). Use with warm or cold water!

    # Sprinkle toilet bowl with baking soda

    * 1/4 cup olive oil

    * 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar

    * 20-30 drops lemon essential oil (can substitute with 2 tsp. of lemon juice, but must store in the fridge)

    Shake well before using. Dip a clean, dry cloth into the polish and rub wood in the direction of the grain.

    BONUS: To remove water spots, try rubbing well with toothpaste. You can also remove scratches with 1 part lemon juice and 1 part oil.

    Cleano--Non-Toxic Drain Opener

    This easy-peasy clogged drain solution is effective and safe!

    * 1/2 cup baking soda

    * 1/2 cup vinegar

    * Hot to boiling water

    Pour baking soda down the drain and follow with vinegar. Cover, and let sit for at least 30 minutes. Flush with hot to boiling water.

    TIP: For tough jobs, zap your magic mixture in the microwave till barely hot (in a glass container) for boosted cleaning power.
