After making a short film in 2010, <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/7936935/David-Gandy-to-make-his-film-debut.html" target="_blank">Gandy expressed his interest</a> in playing James Bond and said it would be a “dream come true” for him.

Plenty of actors have played James Bond in the past, with the first and most iconic actor as Sean Connery. We all know Connery because of his character as James Bond, which he played in seven different films. He has won numerous awards in recognition of his portrayal. It was also the most iconic character Connery has played throughout his life.  
In between Connery’s James Bond portrayals, other actors played in single James Bond movies namely George Lazenby and David Niven. After Connery has finished six James Bond projects in 1971, he backed out of the next movie and was replaced by Roger Moore as the new generation James Bond. Moore started in 1973 and also had seven films in the franchise. Connery played James Bond one last time in 1983 as a comeback, in which he was slightly older but still had the charm of the original character.  
Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan succeeded Moore, and from 2006 to present, Daniel Craig holds the title of the character James Bond with four films.

Who Played James Bond in the Past?

According to the original novels and stories written by Ian Fleming, James Bond was naturally a good looking yet cold person. He had short, black hair with a signature comma falling down his right forehead. His eyes are blue-grey and his mouth has a “cruel” appearance to it. Ideally, he has the appearance of an emotionless model.  
Bond is also tall, slim-built, and confident. As a secret service agent, he keeps a low profile especially to avoid his enemies. According to experts, James Bond was around late thirties to early forties in the novels, with the closest age at 42 and the most plausible birth date as November 11, 1924.

Comparing David Gandy to James Bond’s literary persona, he seems to be a very good fit for the role. As a fashion model, Gandy is accustomed to emotionless portrayal, much like Bond’s coldness and solitude. He is also tall with a height of 6’3” and a well-built body. His short brown hair is often styled in a brushed up way, similar to Bond’s, with a few hairs falling on his forehead. It does seem like Gandy was born to play James Bond.  
Although Gandy is relatively new to acting, he has founded his own production company which keeps him surrounded by actors on the regular. This means he is knowledgeable about the behind-the-scenes that happen during filming and show production. And let’s face it, Gandy is totally good looking! He would be a great James Bond if he will ever be given the role.
