Watch A 200,000 Mile Canyon Of Fire Erupt From The Sun

Looks like the sun is waking up.

1. This enormous magnetic filament erupted from the sun in late September.

It broke what had been a pretty quiet period on the sun.

2. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory caught it on camera, and visualisers at the Goddard Space Flight Centre combined two days of data to make this spectacular video of it.
