Remember The Newly Discovered Mammal That Looks Like A Teddy Bear? Here's A Baby One
Spoiler: it's adorable.
In August this year, scientists announced they'd found a new species of mammal – the olinguito – that had been misidentified in zoos and museums for over 100 years.
Now a new photo of a baby olinguito, taken in Colombia by a volunteer from SavingSpecies, has been released.
These are clearly young olinguitos—they are so tiny that they almost fit in the gentle hands of our conservation experts. Note the bright, curious eyes, and nose custom-adapted for snooping out bits of fruit from the forest.
