It looks like if the student loan office already has your income information because you’re on an income based repayment plan, it will be applied automatically. For others an application process is supposed to be available by end of the year.

BuzzFeed didn’t report on this but it says in the official statement that for borrowers on a new income based repayment plan that is being implemented, the government will cover unpaid interest so that loan balances will not grow while payments are being made!

@Weep1313 our combined salary at the time was $150K although we have both since gotten raises and our combined is now around $180k.
