9 Times Mulder And Scully Loved Each Other So So Much.

The X-Files is coming baaaack!!!! Look, we all love aliens and monsters but let's face it: that's not the reason any of us watched The X-Files. With the upcoming revival of our favorite 90s show about lovelorn FBI agents just around the corner, I know what's on everybody's minds: WILL THERE BE ADEQUATE KISSING? I can only hope the answer is yes, but with this show, you never know. For now, let's take a stroll through The X-Files' nine seasons and remember nine times the sexual tension between Mulder and Scully almost broke our TV sets. And our hearts.

1. 1X12 "Beyond the Sea"

A psychic on death row claims to know the whereabouts of a murderer holding a young couple hostage. Mulder gets hurt, Scully gets resoundingly feisty and calls the psychic a son of a bitch. Scully visits Mulder in the hospital and he strokes her arm. The series is off to an excellent start.

2. 2X08 "One Breath"

Scully's in a coma. Mulder realizes he will be lost if she dies. Hand holding. Hospital visits. Sensing a theme here, but I'm on board with it.

3. 3X17 "Pusher"

A bad guy with powers of persuasion convinces Mulder to play Russian roulette. Scully gets v yelly and protective. A must-see.

4. 4X20 "Small Potatoes"

A personal fave, because who doesn't love a red wine drinkin' Scully? A Mulder lookalike seduces our favorite red-haired heroine and just before their would-be romantic encounter, the real Mulder bursts through the door to save the day. Scully later tells the real Mulder that he isn't a loser. And in The X-Files, this is as close to a declaration of love as you're going to get.

5. 5X05 "Post-Modern Prometheus"

A black and white Scully and Mulder dance while Cher serenades them from a few feet away. Enough said about this one.

6. 6X19 "The Unnatural"

I love this fairly random episode about aliens playing baseball with all my heart, despite the fact that the agents are only featured in small bits at the beginning and end. It ends with Mulder teaching Scully how to hit a baseball, and me crying silently.

7. 7X02 "The Sixth Extinction II: Amor Fati"

This episode features one of the show's most iconic lines. An injured Mulder tells Scully "You were my constant, you were my touchstone" and thousands of viewers' hearts simultaneously broke the ef in half. And then Scully touched Mulder's lips.

8. 8X21 "Existence"

Scully's got a new little babe, the father of which she has kept quiet about so far. And then: a miracle! All our hopes confirmed!! Mulder and Scully share a kiss that lets the audience know he's the daddy! I wish we then flashbacked to the conception, but no such luck.

9. 9X19 "The Truth II"

Aaand it's all been leading to this. Mulder and Scully run away together and canoodle in a motel room while every single dedicated viewer up until this point bursts into tears and starts the series over. Or maybe that's just me?
