I am.... a lot of things. I am a daughter, a mother, a sister, a friend, and so much more... I am quiet, but loud. I am thoughtful, but impulsive, and to quote Marilyn Monroe "If you cannot handle me at my worst, you do not deserve me at my best"

  • Local Government’s New Plan Means Death Sentence For Animals

It’s been in the news for a little while now. Henderson County & City government officials have applied and been approved for a $250,000 from the state of Kentucky that they plan to use to build a new Animal Control Facility. At first glance, this doesn’t sound like such a bad thing, but when you look more closely… euthanasia rates will SKYROCKET! From single digits to 80%

  • An Open Letter To My 12 Year Old Daughter

Sometimes being a mom is the hardest job in the world. This is a letter that I wrote to my 12 year old daughter. My daughter is my hero, and I admire her. She always reminds me to view the world with wonder and amazement. She has taught me so much. I only hope that I can teach her as well…

  • Dog Fighting Must Stop

Dog fighting and animal abuse and neglect are not those societal problems that “don’t happen here.” This is happening right HERE, in OUR community, and it needs to STOP. I ask that you take a few minutes to look at the photos below, and at the video. This is the ugly truth. This is real, and it will not go away by turning a blind eye. This dog, and all of the others like him need our help. Please, if you have ANY information on who may have done this, PLEASE contact the Humane Society of Henderson County at 270-826-8966

Working in radio puts me in a bit of a higher public profile than if I worked as say, a receptionist in a doctors office…

  • Teens Allowed to Have Sex at Home

This morning on Good Morning America (ABC) Elisabeth Hasselbeck reported that a small percentage of teens are being allowed to have sex in the home. This is creating quite a buzz. Before you watch the video, I will tell you that both sides of the argument are presented and I can understand both points of view. I like to think that as a mom of a pre-teen that I will be proactive with my daughter… teaching her about protecting her body, providing her with the necessary information to make well informed decisions, assisting with doctors visits and birth control when the time comes. I trust my daughter. I trust that I have given and will continue to give her the tools that she needs to make safe, intelligent decisions, and I trust my relationship with her will allow her to come to me when she needs to. However, I have to say that openly allowing sex in the home is not something that I think that I would allow. It seems dangerous to me
