You start out by working in one of those jobs.
And your bank account is crying like this:
And this makes you want to be an... ENTREPRENEUR!
And you hear about all the success stories of people who have quit their jobs and made big bucks. Sounds like a plan!
You try to tell your friends and family about your awesome plan to start a business and become a millionaire, and their reaction is like this:
But then you start meeting other entrepreneurs and actually (gasp!) networking.
And at some point your idea becomes your whole life.
Oh, and coffee of course. :)
So your friends and family are all like,
And you're like, NOOOOOO!!!!!!!
And you start working a looootttt. After your second consecutive 80 hour week, you're like this:
And you kind of stalk potential customers like this:
But then you make your first sale ever. YOUR FIRST SALE!
And then you have days like this, even though you don't even have a "real" job.
And things start to suck. Really suck. Maybe you get a hater. Or maybe you stop making money for months on end.
You start to question everything. "Am I really supposed to be doing this with my life? Why didn't I pick an easier career? Maybe I should just quit now and give baths to cats for a living."
But then you have a friend like this, who pops out of nowhere with a Rocky-style motivational speech, just as you're about to throw in the towel.
So you keep trying. Day by day, you do the work. Step by step by step.
And it is hard work.
But your work starts to pay off. You hustle your butt off, and it actually works!
And you think, maybe this is worth it after all! Then you get your first fan. SOMEONE ACTUALLY LIKES YOU!
And then you decide to do things your way, and stop following the rule book. Because there are no rules in business. And things are really starting to take off.
So of course you feel like this:
And things start to go swimmingly in your business.
You've got this starting a business thing down! Congratulations, you made it! You're an entrepreneur.
Time for a nap.
