Historical Figures Who Used a Standing Desk

Standing desks are all the rage. I've been using one for years, but I'm not really an early adopter; standing have been popular for centuries.

    Winston Churchill

    Thomas Jefferson

Founding father and President of the United States of America.

    Ernest Hemingway

    Twentieth century American author.

    Napoleon Bonaparte

Military leader and first emperor of France.

    Charles Dickens

Nineteenth century English writer and critic.

    Vladimir Nabokov

    Twentieth century Russian-America author.

    Virginia Woolf

    Twentieth century English author.

    Leonardo Da Vinci

Italian Renaissance artist, inventor and polymath.

    Oscar Hammerstein II

    American theatre producer and songwriter.

This is a fairly impressive list of writers, artists and leaders. If you try standing up to work and are faced with detractors, just say that if it's good enough for these people, then it's good enough for you.

Note: there is no need to list everyone in chronological order (no one like a know-it-all).
