    Anyone who has ever shopped for fruit at their local supermarket sees the stickers on them.

    They're there so that the cashier can scan the price, RIGHT?!

    The labels are freaking EDIBLE.

    The FDA says that these stickers are not only printed on edible paper, but the glue is edible as well.

    (They don't encourage you to eat them, but if swallowed accidentally you'll be just fine.)

    Another fun fact: the numbers alongside the barcode have a meaning in the fruit world.

    Traditionally grown fruit (using pesticides) will have four digits.

    GMO's have five digits and will always start with an 8.

    Organic also has five digits but will start with a 9.

    There you have it! If the FDA says so, it must be edible.
