Things To Bring To JWU (and Things To Leave At Home)

1. Bring: A Robe

You’re going to be in your hall a lot. Bring a robe to stay warm, stay covered and lounge in style. Dancing is optional.

2. Leave: Candles

Leave those candles at home, Wildcat. They are against Res Hall policies and can be dangerous. In the meantime, re-read Harry Potter and dream of Hogwarts.

3. Bring: Flip flops

Bring some flip flops for shower time, roaming your hall or last minute trips to Starbucks. They’re easy to wear anywhere.

4. Leave: Your entire closet

You will not need 43 sweatshirts or 16 pairs of jeans, we promise. Bring the best of the best-- you only have limited room on-campus. You can always switch out clothes seasonally during break.

5. Bring: A winter coat

Sorry to break it to you, but New England has winter and it lasts for a long time. Make sure to bring your winter coat, a hat, gloves and a scarf. You walk a lot on campus and we want you to stay warm.

6. Leave: Your own office chair

Leave that fancy chair at home— each resident is provided one in their room!

7. Bring: Headphones

Don’t forget your headphones! They’ll be your BFF when studying for an exam & your roommate wants to watch TV,

Even though some halls are pet friendly, snakes are not allowed part of the policy.

9. Bring: An Umbrella
