    This Instead Of That

Instead of talking about recent movies you've seen... maybe you can discuss this.

I am a complex thinker... or maybe I just think I am. I came up with this idea last night... and it... well, it isn't exactly revolutionary... but I do think it is pretty good!

You know those times you're around someone you regularly see but haven't seen in a week or two? You know that awkward conversation starter "Have you seen any good movies lately?" It can start a deep conversation but sometimes will lead to a "Nope." and a lull in the conversation.

Silence isn't a terrible thing in conversations and sometimes, even I feel comfortable being quiet. Other times however, I want to talk... even hearing a certain person speak can be a very soothing thing!

Either way, after or in addition to bringing up movies... also, ask about online videos or websites in general. You might still get a "No" and then you might move onto television, music, books, art, theatre... whatever basically... but chances are you'll strike someone's fancy and they'll Love that you asked about it. At least, few people ask me anything more than "Seen any good movies lately?"

I originally thought of it as "Have you seen any good YouTube videos lately?" but there is more to the internet and of course more places to watch video!

Why not write your good finds below? You don't have to limit it to internet topics but it might be easier since we're... on the internet and all!
