How UP administration is using Social Media for development activities

How often does it happen that we ask for something and it is instantaneously granted? It is a different high and happiness swells our heart.

Something similar happened when Nikita Shukla, Gram Pradhan of Nagwasi Village (Mirzapur district), tweeted to the Uttar Pradesh CM office.

On Friday, February 12, the day when the state presented its budget, Nikita Shukla and people of Nagwasi were enamored by the power of social media and proactiveness of their chief minister.

Ms Shukla was following the UP Budget on Twitter when the CM's official handle tweeted '#UPBudget2016- The state government aims to establish 3,000 rural industrial units, which will provide employment to 60,000 people: #UPCM'.Happy by the announcement she instantly tweeted back saying that it would be great if smart business units were set in her village and within seconds she got a reply that it shall be done.

An ecstatic Nikita, while reacting to the development said that it is a dream come true for her and other residents of the village. The extremely motivated Pradhan is now busy preparing an implementation plan.

In its latest budget, the Uttar Pradesh Government has allocated Rs 300 crore for 'I -Sparsj' a scheme to develop smart villages, and thanks to the power of social media, Nagwasi seems to be the first name on the list.
