Meet The "Filmmaker" Whose Movie Sparked Deadly Riots

See the first photos of Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the drug-dealing, identity-thieving felon behind Innocence of Muslims.

Nakoula was escorted from his Cerritos home Saturday by Los Angeles County Sheriff officers who were assisting federal probation officers.

Nakoula was taken in for a voluntary interview regarding his probation. Officers are currently reviewing Nakoula's case to see if he violated the terms of his probation, which include using the internet without permission.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, who served time for bank fraud, went by several aliases, Wired reported, including: Matthew Nekola, Ahmed Hamdy, Amal Nada, Daniel K. Caresman, Kritbag Difrat, Sobhi Bushra, Robert Bacily, Nicola Bacily, Thomas J. Tanas, Erwin Salameh, Mark Basseley Youssef, Yousseff M. Basseley, Malid Ahlawi, and P.J. Tobacco.

Nakoula kept his face hidden, but this Facebook photo of him and an actress on the set of Innocence of Muslims has since surfaced.
