Emma Watson's Rep Said The Actor's Career Is "Dormant" But, Thankfully, That Was Just A False Alarm

We can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Emma Watson hasn't joined any new film projects since 2019's Little Women, according to her IMDb at least — which is why, earlier today, rumors spread that the actor is retiring. Her publicist reportedly told the Daily Mail that Watson's career is “dormant” and she’s “not taking on any new commitments.”

Thankfully, though, that isn't the case. Watson's manager, Jason Weinberg at United Entertainment, has given us all a reason to breathe a sigh of relief, telling Entertainment Weekly, "Emma's social media accounts are dormant, but her career isn't.”

Her Instagram bio also says Watson’s account is “not being updated.”

Although it’s unclear when Watson will return to acting, she’s apparently been spending all of her time with her reported fiancé, Leo Alexander Robinton, according to the same Daily Mail story, so take that for what it's worth.

"Emma has gone underground; she is settling down with Leo," a source told the publication. "They're laying low. Maybe she wants a family."

Hopefully, Watson returns to acting soon. The entertainment industry needs her.
