Chris Rock Was Considered To Be On "Friends" And "Seinfeld," And I Don't Know If I Should Celebrate Or Feel Angry About It

"Yes, I would have been the Black friend. That's basically who I am to America at this point."

Can you imagine what Friends would have been like if Chris Rock was a part of the cast? Because the comedian told Stephen Colbert he was considered to be a part of the show when it was still in development.

"There was talk about me being one of the 'Friends' at one point," he said on The Late Show. "Yes, I would have been the Black friend. That's basically who I am to America at this point."

Sadly, Rock wasn't on the show, but he was also considered to play Jerry Seinfeld's best friend, George Costanza, in the hit NBC sitcom Seinfeld.

"There was talk about Seinfeld," Rock said in response to the rumors about him being on the series. "I just heard that one. I mean, it was a lot of NBC talk."

But even though the Everybody Hates Chris star lost the role to Jason Alexander, he says NBC did the right thing to cast Alexander instead of him.

"Let's just say the good people at Seinfeld, they made the right choice," Rock said, while adding Alexander is a "good" and also "amazing" actor.

As we know, Rock’s career didn’t end after he missed out on those great job opportunities. He’s won numerous Emmys and is still creating fascinating projects.
