"It’s So Disrespectful And Very Dangerous": Charlie Puth Weighed In On Fans Throwing Items At Performers

Charlie Puth would like fans to stop throwing things at performers.

Over the past few weeks, several singers have had items thrown at them or otherwise been hurt while performing. For example, Bebe Rexha was hit in the face by a phone during a New York concert earlier this month.

Bebe said she needed stitches for the injuries sustained from being hit.

Then, days later, Ava Max was slapped by a fan who'd jumped on stage during her concert.

Ava later shared an update on Twitter, noting the fan "scratched the inside of [her] eye."

He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again 😡😡thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!❤️

This week, Kelsea Ballerini became the latest performer to be struck after an object was thrown at her while she was singing on Wednesday.

Guys. I know we all mean well. We all want to show Kelsea love the best way we know how, and shower her with all the gifts. But throwing things on stage where artists are already so vulnerable is NOT the move. If you can’t hand it to her, there are so many other options. Lord,… pic.twitter.com/oIgy2JDn3V

Kelsea also took to social media to address the situation.

On Thursday, she said in an Instagram story that a thrown bracelet hit her in the eye but noted she was "fine." "It more so just scared me than hurt me. we all have triggers and layers of fears way deeper than what is shown, and that's why i walked offstage to calm down and make sure myself, band and crew, and the crowd all felt safe to continue," she said.

Later on Thursday, Charlie Puth tweeted about the upsetting trend, saying that it needs to end.

"This trend of throwing things at performers while they are on stage must come to an end. (Bebe, Ava, AND NOW Kelsea Ballerini…) It’s so disrespectful and very dangerous. Please just enjoy the music I beg of you…" he wrote.

Here's hoping this doesn't happen to any more performers.
