    Man Steals 800 Books In Search Of 'Life's Meaning', Comes Up Empty Handed

    In what can only be described as a Woody Allen short story masquerading as reality or the greatest reverse metaphor for a liberal arts degree at an elite 4-year university in history, a Chinese man stole 800 books over the course of 6 months because he "was hoping to find the answer" to life's meaning.

    After a local bookstore reported large amounts of high-brow literature missing, Nanjing police staked out the location until they identified a regular 'customer' who left with more than 30 books three our four times a week. They contacted the owner, who checked the store's inventory—and indeed, they were missing the right number.

    Apparently, the man failed. “I couldn’t comprehend the meaning of life,” he said.

    Wonder if they'll let him read Dostoyevsky in jail?
