    "Power" Actors Then Vs Now

This cast is just too good.

Power sparked a multi-show universe of crime and drama, and I just can't get enough!

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson as Kanan, Joseph Sikora as Tommy Egan, Omari Hardwick as James St. Patrick a.k.a Ghost

The Power actors found a way into our hearts with their incredible acting on the show and their magnetic personality off-camera thanks to social media. Since I know people like to keep up with the actors whose work they enjoy watching, I am going to update you today on what the cast of Power looked like then vs now.

Warning,¬†ūüö®spoilersūüö®¬†ahead for Power. If you haven't finished the series, beware!

Omari Hardwick as James St. Patrick a.k.a Ghost (Then):

Omari Hardwick as James St. Patrick a.k.a Ghost

This was the first time we got to meet James St. Patrick's alter ego, "Ghost".  Omari Hardwick delivered an unforgettable performance as James St. Patrick, the intelligent businessman and father. He took things to the whole other level when audiences fell in love with the gritty demeanor and streetsmart dynamic of his incredible acting as "Ghost".

    Omari Hardwick Now:

James St. Patrick and Ghost may have left Power(For now according to some conspiracy theorists) but Omari Hardwick's career is far from over. Since Power, he's made appearances on the shows Pieces of Her, That Damn Michael Che,  and Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. He's also starred in the movies Spell and Army of the Dead.

Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick (Then):

Ghost and Tariq having a conversation

The young and highly talented star is one of those actors that gets loved and hated by fans because of how good he is at his job. The heir to the throne, Tariq was played exceptionally well by Micharl Rainey Jr. He joined the Power cast at 13 years old but let's see what he looks like today.

    Michael Rainey Jr. Now:

Now 21 years old, the young actor is just getting started. He's already been in a few movies including Lee Daniels' The Butler and Barbershop: The Next Cut. Thanks to his break-out performance as Tariq in Power, he is now the star of the spinoff series Power Book II: Ghost with Season 2 currently being aired every Sunday on Starz.

Joseph Sikora As Tommy Egan (Then):

Every actor in Power plays a key role in the series but few are as important as Joseph Sikora's Tommy Egan. Although he is James St. Patrick's best friend and business partner, he was the only one that could actually go toe to toe with Ghost and live to talk about it. Let's see what he's up to.

    Joseph Sikora Now:

Now Joseph Sikora is continuing to make moves. Since Power,  he's already been in two films including The Intruder and Jacob's Ladder. Fans can also be excited to see Joseph Sikora's Tommy Egan return in Power Book V: Force. The series will focus on Tommy leaving New York for good and premieres on Starz on February 6. That's right, Tommy Egan is back and badder than ever.

Naturi Naughton as Tasha St. Patrick (Then):

Naturi Naughton as Tasha St. Patrick

As the backbone of the St. Patrick family and the queen of Ghost and Tommy's drug organization, the highly skilled actress Naturi Naughton's role as Tasha St. Patrick was loved by many for plenty of reasons. Her stunning beauty coupled with her character's mother bear instincts and her ride-or-die demeanor are just a few reasons we love Tasha St. Patrick.

    Naturi Naughton Now:

Since starring in Power, Naturi has made an appearance on the shows Queen of the South and Queens. She is also returning to the role of Tasha St. Patrick in Power Book II: Ghost, which I am excited about. The talented and skilled actress has also appeared in the 2020 films Emperor and Really Love.

Lela Loren as Angie Valdes (Then):

    Lela Loren as Angie Valdez

Lela Loren did such a good job that one week people hated her, and the next week people loved her. Some fans were happy to see Angie go because they felt that if it wasn't for her, a lot of the drama and bad things that occurred on the show probably wouldn't have happened. While others couldn't believe it and wanted the Jamie and Angie Valdes love story to never end.

    Lela Loren Now:

This Power cast member has been busy. Lela guest-starred on the show Bull in 2018 and she played a main character in Season 2 of Altered Carbon. She has a recurring role on the hit show American Gods and she had a role in Halle Berry's film Bruised. Currently, Loren is filming The Man from Toronto.

La La Anthony as Lakeisha Grant (Then):

La La Anthony as Lakeisha Grant

Lakeisha was a loyal and good friend. She's family-oriented, smart, and all about her business.  She helped the St. Patrick family out with their drug business and once the cops came knocking on her door she did what she thought was best for her son. We really liked her and Tommy's relationship, and miss her character because they were really good together.

    La La Anthony Now:

La La Anthony has been doing well for herself. She's landed recurring roles on the shows BH90210, The Chi, Black Mafia, Family, and Wu-Tang: An American Saga. She doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon and I'm here for it!

Curtis Jackson as Kanan Stark (Then):

Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson as Kanan Stark

Seeing 50 Cent play Kanan on his show Power has been a fan's dream come true. Kanan is an intimidating, highly intelligent, street smart killer that doesn't let anyone get in the way of him getting what he wants. But as great of a character he was, the screen was never going to be big enough for both Ghost and Kanan, so he had to go.

    Curtis Jackson Now:

    Curtis '50cent' Jackson as Kanan

Curtis Jackson now narrates the story of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which is all about the backstory of Kanan's upbringing. 50 Cent is always on the move, dipping his hand in different business ventures, music, movies, and T.V. shows. He is an executive producer for the shows For life and BMF, which have both increasingly grown in popularity. Recently, he also starred in Escape Plan 2: Hades and Escape Plan: The Extractors.

    J.R. Ramirez as Julio (Then):

    J.R. Ramirez as Julio

The ultimate soldier for Ghost and Tommy. Julio played his role well within the organization and was a pivotal part of the business' success.

    J.R. Ramirez Now:

Time's change but it seems J.R. Ramirez's looks don't! Recently he played a main role on the show Jessica Jones and currently, he is a main character on the show Manifest.

    Rotimi as Dre (Then):

    Rotimi as Dre on Power

Dre was the ultimate snake on the show. Every move he made was selfish and only in his best interest. A lot of fans thought he got what he deserved in his final episode of Power for all the drama he causes throughout the series.

    Rotimi Now:

When Rotimi isn't being a really good R&B singer he's busy being a really good actor. The talented Rotimi recently appeared in the movie Coming 2 America and made an appearance on the show Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

Jerry Ferrara as Joe Procter (Then):

    Jerry Ferrara as Joe Proctor

Joe Proctor was just the right guy in the wrong place at the right time. Ghost and Tommy manipulated him in different ways to keep themselves outta trouble every chance they got. Poor guy never stood a chance.

The skilled actor is still doing his thing and going strong. Since Power, Ferrara had a recurring role in Shooter and recently he was in the movie Dating and New York.

    Lucy Walters as Holly (Then):

    Lucy Walters as Holly

Although she tried her best to play her role as Tommy's lover and business partner (As Tasha does to James) Holly saw a heartbreaking ending. Even though she didn't make it, we applaud her for her effort.

    Lucy Walters Now:

Lucy Walters has been constantly working since her debut on Power. She's been on Group, NCIS: New Orleans, Falling Water, Z: The Beginning of Everything, Law and Order: SVU, Get Shorty, FBI: Most Wanted, and more. The busy actress has also recently been in the films Entangled, Boarding School, and This Teacher.

Andy Bean as Greg Knox (Then):

    Andy Bean as Greg Knox

Greg Knox was jealous of James St. Patrick because he stole Angie Valdes from him. But, because Knox was so good at his job and gave Angie space, she was able to see for herself that she should not be with Ghost. For this reason, Greg was able to win her back.

    Andy Bean Now:

Andy Bean attends the Premiere Of Warner Bros. Pictures' "It Chapter Two" at Regency Village Theatre on August 26, 2019 in Westwood, California.

Far from done. After his departure from Power, Andy Bean has been in the films Find What You Love and Let It Kill You, It Chapter Two, Malignant, and King Richard. He is also the star and the main role of the show Swamp Thing, which is a comic book horror show on The CW network.

Donshea Hopkins as Raina St. Patrick (Then):

Donshea Hopkins as Raina St. Patrick

Probably the saddest death in the series, we all miss the innocent Raina St. Patrick and wonder what would have been if she had not been killed so early in the show. Would she have been interested in joining the family business or would she have kept her hands clean? If that would have even been possible. Also, what would have become of Tariq? Would he still be down the same route he is now? I guess we'll never know.

    Donshea Hopkins Now:

It seems like the young but the very skilled star is far from finished. Since Power, Donshea has made appearances on Orange Is the New Black,  The Bobby Brown Story, Power Book II: Ghost, The Detour and, The Other Two.

Larenz Tate as Councilman Rashad Tate (Then):

Larenz Tate as Councilman Rashad Tate

We are just scratching the surface of Councilman Tate. For the most part, all we really know about him right now is that Rashad lies to get what he wants, as most politicians do. But you can tell there's more to him, something dark. These unknown aspects are going to be further explored in Power Book V: Influence.

    Larenz Tate Now:

Since Power, the amazing Larenz Tate has been making power moves. He will be starring in Power Book V: Influence, as it is primarily focused around Councilman Rashad Tate as the main character. That's not all, you can also catch him appearing in Power Book II: Ghost.

Shane Johnson as Cooper Saxe (Then):

    Shane Johnson as Cooper Saxe

After all the shady things he's done and the danger he's put himself in, I don't really know how Cooper Saxe is still alive. Therefore, Saxe is either really good at his job or a very lucky man.

    Shane Johnson Now:

As I said, I don't really know how he is still alive considering everything he's done but, If you want to see more of Shane Johnson, Cooper Saxe returns in Power Book II: Ghost!

Luis Antonio Ramos as Ruiz (Then):

    Luis Antonio Ramos as Ruiz

Ruiz was always about business and making money, the OG way. Fans respected Ruiz for being real and loyal so they were sad to see him go.

    Luis Antonio Ramos Now:

Luis Antonio Ramos is still putting in that work. Recently he's appeared in the shows The Equalizer, Blue Bloods, and Elementary.

Sinqua Walls as Shawn Stark (Then):

    Sinqua Walls as Shawn Stark

Shawn was just a confused kid. He was in love with the wife (Tasha St. Patrick) of his Uncle G (James St. Patrick), and wanted to be loved by his father (Kanan) who hated him because of his attachment to Ghost (The person who sent Kanan to jail). No wonder he was so confused about who his loyalty should be with.

After being killed off in Power,  the talented Walls has made appearances in the shows The Breaks, Tales, and American Soul. He's also been in the films The 15:17 to Paris, Otherhood, and Resort To Love.

Anika Noni Rose as Lavern "Jukebox" Ganner (Then):

Anika Noni Rose as Lavern 'Jukebox' Ganner

Jukebox was intriguing and extremely intelligent. Although she was a crooked cop, fans loved her character because of how real she was and how gangsta she could get.

    Anika Noni Rose Now:

Although she only spent one season on Power, Anika Noni Rose is one of the most successful cast members. She has landed a recurring role, the main cast member role, or appeared on a few episodes of Family Reunion, Them, Maid, Amphibia, The Quad, American Masters, Disney Comics in Motion          Avengers Assemble, Magical Girl Friendship Squad: Origins, and Little Fires Everywhere. She's also been in the films Assassination Nation, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Body Cam, Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey, The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, Injustice, and The Outlaw Johnny Black. Seems like the sky is the limit for the talented Anika Noni Rose!

Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Tameika Robinson (Then):

Quincy Tyler Bernstine as Tameika Robinson

As one of the only members of the show's original DA's Office to still be alive, the skilled Tameika is smart and very good at her job. Maybe that's why she has made it this far.

    Quincy Tyler Bernstine Now:

After her role on Power ended in 2020, the amazing Quincy Bernstine has been in the movie The Tender Bar and she will be making an appearance in Allswell, which is in post-production right now. Currently, she is reprising her role as Tameika Robinson in Power Book II: Ghost.

Sung Kang as John Mak (Then):

    Sung Kang as John Mak

Sung Kang is probably the best Assistant U.S. Attorney on the show. Highly talented, he is willing to do whatever it takes to convict the defendant and win the case.

    Sung Kang Now:

Upon entering the Powerverse, he's been on the shows Magnum P.I., Lisey's Story, and Whiskey Cavalier. Kang reprised his role as John Mak and makes appearances on Power Book II: Ghost. The superb actor will also be on the show Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Victor Garber as Simon Stern (Then):

    Victor Garber as Simon Stern

Simon Stern started as a rich, ignorant, pompous businessman whose only goal was to steal the Truth Nightclub from James St. Patrick. As he got outsmarted by Ghost throughout the series, he definitely humbled himself real quick and became a much more tolerable character.

    Victor Garber Now:

Not too long ago Garber appeared on the shows Family Law and The Simpsons.   Recently the incredible actor also narrated the TV special Beebo Saves Christmas, and you can catch him reprising his role as Simon Stern in a few episodes of Power Book II: Ghost.

David Fumero as Mike Sandoval (Then):

    David Fumero as Mike Sandoval

Mike Sandoval was crooked, but when you consider he was only that way because Lobos was threatening his daughter, it kinda changes things and you start to feel sorry for the guy.

    David Fumero Now:

We all know what happened to Mike Sandoval on Power, so it should be no surprise David Fumero's been busy since then. The actor has been on a couple of shows including NCIS: Los Angeles, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Chicago Fire, and L.A.'s Finest.

Elizabeth Rodriguez as Paz Valdes (Then):

    Elizabeth Rodriguez as Paz Valdez

It's hard not to sympathize with Paz and the death of her sister Angie Valdes. Then, you feel even worse for her when you consider that Paz was right from the beginning and her sister's relationship with Jamie ended badly just like she said it would. If only Angie listened to her sister...

    Elizabeth Rodriguez Now:

Elizabeth Rodriguez continues to work on her craft. Since the ending of Power, she's been on the television shows The Good Doctor and Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

Enrique Murciano as Felipe Lobos (Then):

    Enrique Murciano as Felipe Lobos

Probably one of the craziest characters on the show, Felipe Lobos kinda has  Heath Ledger's "Joker" vibe to him in the sense that he is insane and can snap at any point in time. His unpredictable demeanor made him extremely difficult to anticipate throughout his time on the show.

    Enrique Murciano Now:

Enrique Murciano attends the 2018 Turner Upfront at One Penn Plaza on May 16, 2018 in New York City

Another very successful Power cast member, Enrique Murciano has appeared on quite a few television series including Bloodline, Hap and Leonard, The Blacklist, The Saint, Briarpatch, Tell Me Your Secrets, as well as the show Panic. He's also made a few movie appearances including Rough Night, Bright, The Half of It, and Father of the Bride is currently filming with the release date yet TBA.

That's all folks! Thank You All For Your Roles On Power, I Appreciate Your Hard Work!!

    Power Intro

Because of their talent, dedication, and hard work, these actors will forever be cemented in television history. Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power Book IV: Influence, Power Book V: Force' have all been greenlit to premiere on Starz thanks to the success of Power. Honestly, it seems like the  Powerverse has turned into the Marvel Cinematic Universe because of how we are being graced with all these incredible prequels and spinoffs to look forward to... and I couldn't be happier!
