BuzzFeed, Please Stop Making Articles Unnecessarily Ironic

Please put an end to articles such as "24 Reasons Why No One Should Ever Own a Pit Bull as a Pet."

Too many times have I gone to BuzzFeed and seen articles with titles somewhere along the lines of "10 reasons you should never travel to Rome" and then having the article be about things that are so backhandedly ironic it makes me stop reading. Wouldn't it be so much better if articles didn't lie to you? If I see an article titled "33 reasons why you should never own a Rottweiler," than I am expecting to see an article with Rottweilers getting into shenanigans and maybe chasing a mailman or two. I expect funny anecdotes and photos displaying the woes of owning a Rottweiler.

But that is not what happens, I click on the link and am forced to read a list of reasons why I SHOULD own a Rottweiler as a pet. I get it BuzzFeed, you need to appeal to the cynical, ironic souls within us all but there must be a better way! We all have that ironic voice in our heads that criticize and belittle things, but you don't have to force us to read your articles in that voice. It takes away from the point of the article.

If you have a beautiful collection of photos from Paris and want to showcase them with the respect they deserve, why belittle that beauty with backhanded comments such as "France Sucks" followed by a beautiful photo. I'm not saying its not funny, its just so unnecessary. All I am trying to say is; if you like Paris and think that people should visit there, simply make a list titled "42 Mind-Boggling Photos That Will Make you Want to Drop Everything you are Doing in your Life and Move to Paris RIGHT NOW"

That is a list I can get behind, and I truly believe that other BuzzFeed readers would appreciate it.

If you really want to appeal to that cynical, ironic voice in us all I have a solution. PLEASE. WRITE. SATIRE. The writers you have are talented and funny, they would write spectacular satire. Critique things that are fun to critique, like the government or celebrities. I think that would provide plenty of irony for everyone.

In conclusion; enough of the uselessly ironic articles, please use your time and wonderfully creative writers on better things. I am sure your readers would appreciate it.
