MIA BRABHAM

Major: Media Arts and Design | Concentration: Digital Video and Cinema

CAP Position: Video and Photography Student Assistant

Involvement at JMU: Student Government Association, University Program Board, National Society of Collegiate Scholars

Dream Job: Talk Show Host, Writer, and Filmmaker.

Best Career/Future Advice: “Be so good they can’t ignore you.” -Steve Martin

I have a blog called A Year of Lessons (yearoflessons.wordpress.com) where I write a life lesson every day for 365 days, and also accept and post guest lessons from readers!

I also make a variety of videos on my YouTube channel (youtube.com/POTENTIALcelebrity) where I have over 17,000 followers

and 2 million video views. I’m going to be an intern at E! News this summer.

BRENNA CASHEN

Major: Media Arts and Design | Concentration: Journalism

Minor: Music Industry

CAP Position: Publicity Student Assistant

Involvement at JMU: University Program Board, P.A.W.S, Big Brothers Big Sisters

Dream Job: If I can’t be Jimmy Fallon, then I want to be a music director for movies (selecting the soundtrack) | Campaign Designer or Creative Advertising for a music festival or Spotify | I also want to write a book (or two).

Favorite CAP Services/Event: RECRUIT-A-DUKE & VAULT

Favorite Form of Social Media: Twitter! I spend most of my time tweeting about celebrities and thinking I’m hilarious. (is this going to help me get a job??)

Best Career/Future Advice: “ Wherever you are, be all there.” -Jim Elliot and

MOLLY JACOB

Major: Communications and Media Arts and Design | Concentration: Journalism

CAP Position: Publicity Student Assistant

Involvement at JMU: JMU'S leadership center, The Dux Center, Kappa Alpha Theta

Dream Job: My dream job is to live in D.C., NYC or Philadelphia working at a

public relations firm.

Favorite CAP Services/Event: My favorite CAP event would definitely be the Career Fair; ya girl got her first paid internship for this summer after attending the spring one (and free pens and cups are nice, too!)

Favorite Form of Social Media: I'm pretty much addicted to Twitter and Instagram. My favorite Twitter moment would have to be when Hoodie Allen tweeted back at me after I went to his concert on my birthday (needless to say, the best birthday present ever).

Best Career/Future Advice: Take initiative, but be flexible!" That's probably my best life advice, too. To me, this advice means you should work hard and go after the things that inspire and motivate you, but don't be upset if everything doesn't work out the way you planned. You never know what good could happen in the most unexpected situations!

ERIKA LYNN

Major: Graphic Design and Media Arts and Design | Concentration: Integrated Advertising and Corporate Communication

CAP Position: Website Student Assistant

Involvement at JMU: Kappa Alpha Theta and The Madison American Advertising Federation

Dream Job: My dream job is to work as a graphic design at a trendy firm or to have my own business as a brand designer

Favorite CAP Services/Event: My favorite CAP services are anything resume related because everyone needs a good resume.

Favorite Form of Social Media: I am obsessed with Instagram and usually spend awhile editing pictures until they are “Instagram-worthy”.

Best Career/Future Advice: My favorite career related advice is a quote by John Legend: “I think success has a lot to do with finding something you love and putting everything you have into it.” Follow your dreams and do what you are passionate about!

DANIELLE RUBLE

Major: Media Arts and Design | Concentration: Journalism

Minor: Creative Writing & Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication

CAP Position: Student Publicity Assistant

Involvement at JMU: President of the Society of Professional Journalists, videojournalist for The Breeze

Dream Job: Have a job at a media outlet where I can write feature and investigative articles. And on the side write bestselling books!

Favorite CAP Services/Events: 1:1 meetings with advisors!

Favorite Social Media Platform: Twitter. I swear Twitter has some of the best accounts in all of social media

I'm absolutely obsessed with Chipotle. I used to work there and I actually ate it almost every day... Oh, and I just got the cutest Shetland Sheepdog puppy named Kai :)
