You Won't Believe What These Students Have In Common!

Every student pictured in this article has one thing in common. Can you tell what it is just by looking at their face? You won't believe it when you find out!

Each of these students has one thing in common.

Can you tell what it is just by looking at them?

It is something you probably wouldn't associate with their generation...

    ...or even their parents'.

They are each living with the first stages of Alzheimer's Disease...

...they just don't know it yet.

Alzheimer's Disease is a neurological disease of the brain that causes dementia: an umbrella term for irreversible loss of intellectual abilities, including reasoning, memory, speech, and comprehension. Alzheimer's is a progressive disease; symptoms worsen with time. Most people are around the age of 65 when symptoms occur, although there are 17,000 young people with dementia in the UK.

In a recent discovery, scientists have found signs of Alzheimer's Disease more than 20 years before the onset of symptoms among patients with the inherited form of the disease. For some, this can be as young as eighteen. This discovery will hopefully help us to understand more about the disease in order to enhance treatment for those affected.

If there is only one thing you are going to do today, make sure you share this post.

The reason the diagnosis rate is so low is that there is not enough awareness surrounding Alzheimer's Disease, especially when symptoms are in their early stages. Please share this post to educate others so they can spot the signs of the disease in their loved ones. An earlier diagnosis means a better quality of life.

We are raising money for Alzheimer's Society!
