With such a connotation of war, destruction, poverty, and misery, there ought to be a light shined on the beautiful country of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, along with its capital, Kinshasa.

First things first, the people of Kinshasa, also known as Kinois, are known for having a good time. It is known as the African city that never sleeps, with nights out at the clubs and bars generally ending until 6 AM the next day! At many of the nightclubs throughout Kinshasa, you can hear them playing music ranging from the forefathers of Congolese much such as Franco and Tabu Ley, all the way to current mainstream artists such as Werrason, Meje 30, and more!

Maléwa is a type of Congolese cuisine where freshly seasoned meat and fish are grilled roadside and served with plantain and salad and costs less than a Big Mac. Kinois' know how to cook and the sure know how to eat.
