39 Products To Keep Your Pet Occupied And Out Of Your Fourth Video Call Of The Day

If your house is already overrun with pet toys, just know it's better to ask forgiveness than permission…at least that's been my motto while writing (and buying from) this list.

    1. A rolling cat kicker toy filled with a blend of catnip, valerian root, and silver vine AKA a magical concoction of a kitty's favorite things. This will surely keep your cat entertained for hours, and when (if) they get tired of it, it's surely just because they wore themselves out.

    Hoff-n-Paw Pet Toys / Etsy, www.instagram.com

Hoff-n-Paw Pet Toys is a small business based in Chicago, Illinois creating unique, handmade and eco-friendly toys for cats.

Promising review: "Very happy with this! I got the small size, which works well as a roller toy. Both of our cats like it, but it works particularly well for our blind cat. The internal rattle helps him track it, and he can grab onto the textured sisal really well. Highly recommended, especially if your cat has sight issues!" —nutmegmeg

Get it for Hoff-n-Paw Pet Toys on Etsy for $15.25+ (available in three sizes and four colors).

    2. A chew toy designed with a squeaker only your dog can hear. 🙌🏼 Now they can be having the time of their life playing with their fave toy without your coworker asking what that sound is that's been interrupting your Zoom call. Plus with its chew-resistant lining, this toy will last more than just 20 minutes.

Promising review: "This product is amazing! We can’t hear the squeaker but our dog can from the other room and comes running to play. He also is an aggressive chewer and quickly rips through even 'tough' toys. This toy has lasted several months and he has only ripped off the felt accent pieces. No rips or tears! This is our dog's new favorite toy, and ours too! A must-have!" —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $9.09+ (available in six animal characters).

    3. A cat donut tunnel that will have your kitty doing circles chasing toys, siblings, or even just their tail. Once they've tuckered themselves out enough they can curl up on the top of it for a cozy nap. BRB gotta add this to my collection…OK I'm back and I'll see this bad boy in three business days.

Promising review: "My cats usually like the boxes better than what’s in it but not this time! They LOVE this thing! The only bad thing is I’m going to have to get another one because they are fighting over it! My large cats fit just fine inside it and they love to chase each other in circles. Great invention!!" —Amazon Customer

    4. A hamster accessory kit so you can create a tiny kingdom that seems like a whole new world to your little buddy. Your hamster won't even know what to do with itself when it sees alllll this new space to explore.

This set includes loop-the-loop, outhouse, snap-on comfort wheel, fun-nel tubes, and rings

Promising review: "The mice love this critter trail activity set. It increases their area to move around and they love the wheel. They're exercising on the wheel all the time! It's a great addition to the critter trail habitat. Putting it together was easy as each piece snaps together. The activity set is also easy to clean. Each section of the activity set comes apart so you can clean it and then you just have to snap it back together when done. I love it but more importantly, the mice love it!" —LittleK

Get it from Amazon for $27.99 (also available in different variations).

    5. A wooden chew toy for parrots and other large birds to keep them occupied instead of singing their songs all day trying to convince you they need fun toys too!

Promising review: "I have a blue front amazon parrot, and he spends coutless hours chewing and playing with this toy. As with other toys, a parrot's delight is in tearing and chewing up any top I get him. I have trouble finding toys that will last more than a day or two, this one he has been playing with for a couple of weeks, and I think it will last him more than most toys." —Greta L. Oliver

Get it from Amazon for $26.99 (available in two color variations).

    6. A multilevel cat tree designed with enough space for everyone in a multi-cat household to find their own special spot. Plus with the scratch ramp and dangling ball they will have fun playing with toys they are supposed to play with, rather than your furniture or power cords.

Get it from Amazon for $65.99+ (available in two colors).

Get it from Amazon for $11.99+ (available in five colors and with or without an additional squeaking toy).

    10. A 2-in-1 Kong Jumbler ball perfect for solo play time or a quick game of tug-of-war between meetings. Plus there is a squeaker and tennis ball inside so they won't hesitate to chew it trying desperately to get them out.

    Chewy, Chewy

Promising review: "This is probably the favorite toy ball of at least one of our Australian Shepherds. She runs around with it like it is her baby. We throw it and she loves to go after it. It has lasted outdoors in the winter and summer heat of the south for almost three years. We just purchased a new one. Wouldn't be without one." —Cher

Get it from Chewy for $14.99+ (originally $15.99; available in two sizes; color will vary).

    11. An activity mat with different sections of ruffles and pockets to keep your pup stimulated while they hunt for treats or to help them slow down from finishing their food .5 seconds after you put it in the bowl.

Reviewer's two dogs playing with the activity mat
A reviewer's dog laying on the mat to show the ruffles, and other hidden pockets

Promising review: "My puppy LOVES this mat! He gets super excited whenever he sees it. He sometimes doesn't like to eat his kibbles in his bowl, but he has so much fun finding and eating kibbles when I hide them into this mat. I heard nose work is also good for reducing separation anxiety in dogs, so I give him this mat whenever I need to leave more than two hours. He deals with separation way better with this. I'm 100% satisfied!" —Bom

Get it from Amazon for $27.99+ (available in two sizes).

    12. An interactive laser toy perfect for keeping your cat occupied and your finger safe from cramping like it does when you use a manual laser. Just turn this on and the random laser motions will lure your fur baby in and keep them occupied.

Don't worry, this will turn off automatically after 15 minutes to prevent overstimulation, plus by that point they'll be so worn out and ready for a nap anyways.

Promising review: "My cats love this. It sure beats finger pressing against the laser pointer! This can be hung from door knob or placed on a shelf. My cats quickly learned the light comes from the white ball and when I approach it they start to chatter and get ready. It moves around in a random pattern which keeps them moving. Bought another for a friend's cat and they love it too." —Kindle Customer

Get it from Amazon for $21.95+ (available in four variations).

    13. A tough, extreme bone to challenge and test even the sharpest toothed doggo in your life. Promising review: "Our new dog has been chewing through every bone and toy we give her as well as a few things we'd rather she didn't chew. This bone is awesome! Excellent product!" —Awesome

    14. A pop-up, collapsible cat tunnel set so your kitty can ~zoom~ through and pounce on its toys (or maybe your other pets) on the other side.

a reviewer's white cat in the blue tunnel
Reviewer's two cats sitting with the blue play tunnel

Includes one square tent house and one tunnel that can be used together or separate.

Promising review: "My cat loves his tunnels and cubes! I ordered a second one so I can build a tunnel system for him to have even more fun. He'll jump on them, jump over them, run through them, lay in them... I'll dangle his wand toy on either end, and he runs back and forth through the tunnels to get his toy. He loves the cubes, too, whether they are attached to the tunnels or not. He likes to chew on the edges of the openings and has poked little teeth marks through the fabric, but it does not look like it will rip. This tunnel stays stiff and straight and doesn't make crinkle noise. I have a different tunnel from a different company which can bend and make crinkle noises which he likes just as much. They can all rip-rap together, so I can create all kinds of fun tunnel adventures for him. He likes the little ribbon dangle that is inside the cube, too. He seriously LOVES these things! It's a lot of fun to play with him with these as well as to watch him entertain himself with them." —W H

Get it from Amazon for $14.99.

    15. tower ball cat toy with rolling balls on multiple levels so they can hunt four prey at one time, without any supervision needed.

Promising review: "This stray kitten showed up at my house just before Christmas. I tried to find her a home but my home is now her permanent home. She is incredibly high energy and enjoys torturing me and my 15-year-old male cat so I was looking for toys that she could self entertain with. She loves this toy and spends hours a day playing with it morning, noon and night." —Kathy

Get it from Amazon for $11.99+ (available in three- or four-tiers and five colors).

Promising reviews: "My conure loves to play with this and gets so silly rolling it around and around!! She uses her beak and sometimes even lays on her back and use her feet!! Lol. She’s absolutely adorable to watch and I am amazed with how much time she spends playing with this toy daily:)" —Terra Ardellini

    19. A suction cup tug-of-war so your pup can continue to play their favorite game even when you aren't able to be on the other end of the rope.

Promising review: "My pitbull is the master of destroying toys. Even Bark Box toys or toys made for aggressive chewers. When I buy toys I know that they won’t last more than a couple of days, so usually I don’t get upset when toys are ripped. I’ve just accepted I have a beastly little pit bull who has a strong jaw. However, I can finally say I found a toy that really worked. The suction is amazing and we can put it on the lower ceiling also so he jumps for it. It’s one of the only toys that hasn’t been destroyed and has been engaging for him. He loves tug-of-war but he is so dang strong, this is a good way for him to work that energy out. I recommended this toy to everybody!!" —Ashley

Get it from Amazon for $24.99.

    20. Or, a retractable hanging tug rope with a bungee cord so your doggos can pull, swing, or yank on this for hours on end. And if you hang it high enough off the ground you can get some extra entertainment watching them leap up for it.

reviewer's pittie looking happy with rope in mouth
reviewer pittie tugging on rope tied to tree

Promising review: "This is a well crafted, very easy apparatus to set up. It has provided fun and interest for my big golden retriever on the occasions when we cannot interact with him in person. I especially like the fact that the metal parts are nowhere near his mouth or body — but instead wrap around the tree far from access by him. I am very impressed with the quality and the interest that my dog has shown in it. Tug-of-war is Murphy’s favorite game and my sore wrist is evidence of the frequency of our play. I’m glad to be able to take a break without denying my pal a tug partner. Worth the money! Murphy loves it!" —Dog Ma

Get it from Amazon for $25.59+ (available in two sizes and for one or two dogs).

reviewer's corgi puppy gnawing on cactus toy

Get it from Amazon for $12.79+ (available in three sizes and five colors).

Promising review: "The snuffle ball arrived quickly. It is adorable, and really soft. Promising reviews: "Got this for my 2-year-old Bernedoodle for Christmas. (Yes I buy my dogs Christmas presents. 😂) Anyway, my dog is very particular about his toys and he LOVES this thing. Hasn’t put it down since I gave it to him. It flips and flops every time he touches it. He prances around the house with it flopping in his mouth all day long, he’s very proud of his catch." —Melissa Odsather

"My cats absolutely love this thing. I initially only got one because I wanted to make sure they would take to it, including our very shy and skittish cat. Not only did she take to it, she loves it! It seems to bring out the predator in her and she keeps taking off with it and trying to hide it. The motion works and looks great! Outside of the slight noise it makes when activated, it looks very real (about as real as you can get for a toy). The material feels durable and safe and I love how you can remove the motor and wash it. I also like that the motor is rechargeable. We like the sealed catnip bag that comes with it, to help prevent it getting all over the house and all over inside the toy." —Bridget

Get it from Amazon for $14.99+ (available in four different fish).

    25. A rechargeable self-moving ball designed with three interaction modes to keep them on their toes for those times they really wanna play fetch but you just can't step away from your computer. Cheerble

Promising review: "I have two Frenchies, and I got them each a ball, and they won't play with two at a time, they wanna play with one together, which is fine with me. You get about two hours per charge, and it tires them out and keeps them entertained. My pups become obsessed with this ball, I literally have to take it away for them to leave it alone. Worth every penny, and the quality is on point, durable, and replacement skins are only $10!!! I would highly recommend this product to any dog owner." —Sean L.

Get it from Cheerble for $39.99 (available in five colors and with a tougher exterior).

    26. A hamster ball to let them roam around and explore the world outside their little cage. Coming from someone who has been inside a human hamster ball, 10/10 would recommend, your furry friend will love this.

Promising review: "My mouse LOVED this thing. He was zooming around the entire house and kept trying to run our cat over. I've never seen a mouse so happy to be a part of a hit and run. It feels sturdy but light enough and I haven't had a problem with it falling apart so far. It's cheap and good so I definitely recommend it." —Dayanara

Get it from Amazon for $6.53+ (available in five sizes and six colors).

Promising review: "My dog loves this thing. She immediately knew to use the straps to pick it up which I thought was very cute. I did tell her to use the straps and she does fully understand English, so I don't know what I was surprised about. She loves grabbing it by one of the straps and shaking the s*** out of it before bringing it back to me. It's much smaller than an actual soccer ball, probably about six inches in diameter." —Jeremy B

Get it from Amazon for $16.34+ (available in two sizes and 11 colors/patterns).

    28. A self-grooming brush that your cat is sure to become obsessed with. Finally they will stop rubbing their face all over your computer screen while you're trying to get your work done.

Reviewer's long hair calico cat laying on the ground rubbing it's face on the scratcher
Another reviewer's black and white cat rubbing it's face on the scratcher

I have had at least one of these in my house (I've moved three times) since I got my cats four years ago. My one cat absolutely loves this thing. He is almost always begging for face scratches, rubbing his face against our computers, or going to town on this little contraption. I have it at the bottom of my stairs so he pretty much uses it constantly, especially when he is about to go upstairs — he will always pause at the bottom to rub his face for a few minutes. It took a little trial and error to find the perfect height for him, but I found the best technique was to just force him to sit near where I was going to put it and use that as a guide to decide how high to put it. This little thing is so great for the time when I'm working and can't stop to brush him for hours on end. As a bonus, he sometimes likes to chew on the little pegs, and doing that distracts him from chewing on cords or other things he shouldn't chew, so I'll take it!

Promising review: "My cat loves to brush up against my MacBook and I have been worried she was going to bite it and ruin it, so I gave this a chance. I am so glad I did. I attached it to the bottom of one of our end tables with the included adhesive strips. It stuck fine, hasn't come off and my cat will not leave it alone. She's in love! I can barely get her to sit on my lap now (I might be a tad jealous!) Definitely worth the purchase and I will be buying a couple more for other areas around the house!" —Jill S.

Get it from Amazon for $5.90.

    29. A duck dog toy reviewers rave about for being practically indestructible. You'll definitely want to grab at least one of these because it's about to become your doggo's new best friend.

Check out a full review of this plush duck toy!

Promising review: "This is my dog's third duck, not because it is dead but because she gets it so gross from her mouth on it. She loves this thing. For some reason this is the ONLY toy she does not rip up. Instead, she carries it around the house. We call it her 'zen' duck because she will suck on it and knead it…. Maybe it’s her catching on to our cat's behavior. Anyways, this is the best little duck and I think we would be doomed if this company ever went out of business. Also, we love the surprise of not knowing which color we will receive. So far we have had purple, green, and now yellow!" —Ruben G.

Get it from Amazon for $6.72+ (available in two characters and a four-pack).

    30. Some 12-inch faux plants to make your fish tank the perfect underwater jungle with great hiding spots. They will feel just like Dory trying to make their way out of the kelp forrest.

Promising review: "I put only about five of these in there and it filled out the tank sooooooo much!!! It gave my new babes a place to hide from the older grumpy fish, til they got more comfy in the tank and grow a bit. (I also have rock hideaways) if you can't have plants cause of your fish, this is a good way to give your tank color and a place for the fish to hide. for the amount this price is AMAZING!!!!" —Amazon customer

    31. A pack of matatabi chew sticks designed to appeal to more cats than traditional catnip sticks (the silvervine plant they come from causes stronger and longer lasting reactions). You're bound to find your kitty cat batting these around the house or going to town gnawing on them.

Meowy Janes is a New Jersey-based small business that specializes in catnip alternatives. They work with sustainable, family-owned farms to source their natural products.

Promising review: "We have three cats and all three have positive reactions to these Matatabi sticks. The cats love to roll on these and throw them around the room. The cats have been playing and chewing on these for months and the sticks are still holding up. These last so much longer than cat nip and give a much more enjoyable experience. Highly recommended for any cat parent." —Brandon L.

    32. Or, a mounted catnip ball your cats are about to become ~obsessed~ with. The four balls are all made of different things: silvervine, gall fruit, catnip, and cat sugar. Your kitty is going to love at least one of these, and you'll love not having to clean up all the flakes from traditional catnip.

A reviewer's orange and black cats each licking one of the balls mounted to the wall
A reviewer's orange, two black cats, and a tabby licking the two balls mounted to the wall

Promising review: "My 18-year-old cat recently went blind and spends most of the day sleeping. She can no longer play with string or chase the laser pointer so I thought cat nip might help her. I tried a crinkly toy that had catnip inside but it did nothing for her. I figured the catnip needed to be stronger and I liked that this had four different varieties. After sniffing the balls a few times she began purring and rubbing on them over and over. The trick with the cat sugar ball is to wet it first, once it was wet she started licking it a ton. This is a great product and I’m so happy I found it." —Tricia

Promising review: "I have two standard Rex rabbits. A fully grown one (about 10 pounds) and 9-week old baby (the size of a guinea pig). Both absolutely have a blast playing with these balls. The baby has even managed to get the ball into the water dish. So, I wonder if he's learned to pick it up and throw it by the treat dispensing opening. The ball's treat dispensing opening is adjustable in size to accommodate different sized yummy surprises or difficulty level. They get great enjoyment trying to get either pieces of vegetables or some food pellets out of it that I've put inside." —PPG

Promising review: "I love this dog puzzle! I've purchased eight of them and given them for gifts with good response. My dogs love this puzzle. I fill with treats or sometimes put their whole meal in this puzzle. The pieces move easily and do not get stuck or hung up on the treats like some puzzles do. It's easy to fill which is nice because I have three dogs and fill three puzzles at a time. Easy to clean and have held up through lots of use. My dogs get excited as soon as they see me get this puzzle out. Highly recommend." —Sara Montana

    35. And a slow feeder bowl designed to prevent your pup from *inhaling* their food and either trying to steal more from their siblings or getting a tummy ache.

Promising review: "Our son has two labradoodles and one of them tends to eat very quickly and then throws up. Not sure if it's because she's competing with her sister or just eats fast! This dish slows her down and has solved the problem. The dish is pretty wide and they actually eat together at the same time now. I keep one at our house for when we doodle sit and I throw it in the dishwasher when they go home. It's a little difficult to wash by hand because of the grooves, but it does fine standing up on its side in the dishwasher. We have the largest dish and the doodles are 25 pounds and 40 pounds." —boOKwOrM

    36. A robotic cat toy that will keep your cat entertained even when you aren't able to play with them. The randomized movements will keep your kitty guessing so they don't get bored with predictable patterns.

Promising review: "I got this for my cats for Christmas but I have one cat who is old and has to live upstairs because the other cats pick on her. I decided since she wouldn’t be participating on Christmas morning that I’d let her go ahead and check it out. She LOVES this toy. She’s been playing with it every day for three weeks. Like I said, she’s old. She doesn’t play a lot anymore. I LOVE it too because it’s easy to charge. It has different attachments so I have options to find one that is most appealing to my cat but the best part is that when she stops playing with it, after a while it goes off and then about a half an hour later it comes back on again. I’m not constantly having to turn it off and on for her. I had this on my wish list for a long time and ended up getting it on Prime Day since it was cheaper. Had I known how much my cat would love this toy, I wouldn’t have waited for a deal. I’m super excited to see what the other cats think of it. If my old cat doesn’t stop playing with it by Christmas, I will order another so she can keep it." —K Petty

    37. A giggle ball designed to keep your dog entertained with its unique giggling sound (that doesn't require batteries or charging)! You don't have to worry about Fido getting enough exercise because they will love playing with this ball for hours on end.

Promising review: "My boxer absolutely loves this ball, this is the second one that I have purchased — the other one still works but she's had it two years and it's a bit chewed up. It lasts for a very long time with my aggressive chewer and keeps her entertained — I actually have to make her come inside from the patio. The sound it makes it so funny and I think that is what keeps her chasing it so much. I would definitely recommend for any medium or large dog breed." —Kristy J.

Promising review: "I got this for Dahlia when she was a 3-month-old kitten and she has been attached to it ever since. She loves to sleep with it and to suckle on it as apparently something happened to her mother when she was young. It’s easy to wash once you take out the battery pack. 10/10 highly recommended!" —Christian

Promising review: "Bought this for our 4-year-old baby. She loves to chase balls and can do it for hours (so it seems). To save our arm and shoulder sockets, we took a chance on this and L-O-V-E it. She has learned the sound of the machine gearing up for the throw and literally prances in place waiting for the ball to eject. We bought extra balls because sometimes she doesn't bring them back so we wanted to have a stockpile. EXCELLENT value for the price!" —Faith I
