37 Products With Review Photos That Are Somewhat Disgusting But Totally Satisfying *And* Cost Under $20

Reading through this is gonna be one of those times where you wanna look away but you just *can't*.

    1. A pumice cleaning stone reviewers repeatedly call magic, and once you see the results, you will understand why. Those rings you've had around the toilet in your basement for years will finally disappear.

Reviewer's toilet bowl, which has dark yellow and brown stains on it
Same reviewer's toilet looking white and clean after using the stone

Promising review: "I’m doing a happy dance right now! My toilets have had mineral rings in the bowls from well water since we bought our house five years ago. During those five years, I have purchased NUMEROUS products to try to remove the rings. Every single one failed. I had come to terms with the idea that if I wanted pristine looking crappers, I was going to need to replace them. Three of them. Ugh! I ordered the pumice cleaning stone as a last ditch attempt. Received it today, and immediately went to town. My extreme enthusiasm for scrubbing johns was actually a bit odd, but I was feeling optimistic. Turns out I had reason to. THIS PRODUCT IS AMAZING!!! SO amazing, it actually inspired me to take a picture of my TOILET!!!! My hoppers are saved!!!!! Seriously, the rings are COMPLETELY GONE. If I could give 10 stars, I would." —Sassyscribbler

Promising review: "This is an amazing set of brushes. Don't be fooled by the low cost. The brushes are soft and long enough to get into tight spots but firm enough to hold up. They work amazing in those hard-to-clean aluminum window runners and sliding doors. I've used them to clean enclosed fan blades, refrigerator vents, etc. They wash easily and with a bit of TLC they hold their shape. Always nice to find something so simple and inexpensive that works so well." —CNJ

Promising review: "I wear boots every day to work for a total of 16 hours a day. I used a pretty standard foot spray and changed out the insoles of my boots on a regular basis. However, after using this foot soak after just a few times, I've noticed a drastic change in my feet in a great way. The cracks are starting to heal. The funk is going away. My feet feel lighter and softer, and are beginning to be a pleasure to stand on again during those long hours at work. Now that I've gone there, I will never go back. For any hardworking man, I cannot recommend this foot soak enough at least twice a week. Trust me, your feet will never be the same again. There are multiple days during the week where I look forward to soaking my feet in this. I can't recommend it enough!" —Amazon Customer

I even scrubbed with a drill brush. So I saw this stuff on Amazon and read the reviews, all good and positive reviews, so I bought it. I sprayed it in the shower and turned around to grab a scrub brush, when I turned back around to scrub it was gone, CLEAN and WHITE tiles like it was new. If you see this on your new baby's head, no need to worry! Read more about cradle cap — aka seborrheic dermatitis — at Seattle Children’s and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Promising review: "My daughter had bad cradle cap. Since it's just cosmetic, we initially thought it was a waste of money to buy a product like this. However, after a couple months it hadn't gone away, so we decided to spend $5. We were initially skeptical, but this product worked this a charm. We just rubbed some baby soap/shampoo onto her head, then rubbed this in circular motion on her head. We could see the scales sloughing off and my daughter didn't seem to mind at all. The first time we did it, it solved 90% of the problem, then we did it a few more times to get any last remaining scales. Since then, her cradle cap hasn't come back at all. Overall, definitely worth the money." —Kate

    7. A shower door cleaner that will make your glass so shiny that you will have to take caution to stop your pet (or maybe your partner) from running into it face first.

Promising review: "This product completely removes soap and hard water stains from clear glass shower doors. I spread it on with a soft scrubbing pad — a little goes a long way — rubbed in circles, and rinsed with clear water (I used a pitcher and poured it across the glass) — twice. No streaking, no smearing, absolutely clear. I will be buying again." —Sallie Cwik

    8. A bottle of Dawn Powerwash with so many uses — tires, cupboards, obviously dishes, and more — you may get carried away trying to find the next thing in your house that needs a deep cleaning. For really stuck-on messes, simply spray a layer and leave it for a few minutes. When you come back, you'll be able to wipe away all the grime.

Promising review: "My daughter told me about this, but I thought it was just like the regular Dawn dish soap. When she finally showed me how it worked, I couldn't believe I was washing dishes without it for so long. It's amazing for all the caked-on baking dishes, and it cuts through grease like magic. And it even worked when cleaning my stove, cabinets, and cupboards. It makes all the caked-on grease and grime disappear. I 100% recommend this product." —Maria Kerr

Promising review: "Just get this, now. We added a kitty to our family a year ago, and I was starting to feel overwhelmed with the nonstop hair. We have beautiful hardwood floors, and sweeping or vacuuming just seemed to provide a temporary fix. When this amazement came, I did a test run on a hall runner that I vacuum often. The amount of hair that came off terrified me!!!!! For days, I walked around from room to room just sweeping everything. It’s almost a miracle. Love, love, love it!" —Pcelica063

    11. A box of wart-removing pads so you can remove that bump that has been tormenting you forever. All you have to do is apply the self-adhering bandage and prepare to finally rid yourself of the wart.

Promising review: "I had a hideous wart on one of my left toes that just wouldn't go away. I tried cutting it off and applying a peeling solution on it, but it came coming back with a vengeance. It was a cause of irritation and embarrassment that I couldn't even wear slides or flip-flops over the summer. Until I found this product. I checked CVS, Rite Aid, & Target, and this was still the best priced product, so I bought a box to try. Without even a month of using these medicated pads, the wart is gone! I have no complaints about the adhesion cuz it was completely intact after 48 hours of putting it on, despite getting them wet a lot (I shower twice a day). Within a week of using these, the tough top of the wart started to peel off with the medicated pad. I decided to continue using the medicated pad to ensure the roots of the wart goes away as well. Now, there are NO traces of the wart, at all! I am super happy about this product and recommend it to whoever needs to get rid of an embarrassing wart." —Elaine Corpin

    12. A snaking tool that will make it ~incredibly~ obvious why your tub is taking forever to drain. Fair warning: if this is the first time you're even attempting to unclog your drain, prepared to be disgusted (and maybe even kinda impressed?).

clean tool about to go down reviewer's drain
tool covered in clumps of reviewer's hair from drain

Promising review: "Works so well I might not eat for days. I live in an apartment complex and the maintenance people are pretty strict about not using drain cleaning chemicals but rather calling them to unclog a slow-draining bathtub or sink. However, I have pretty long hair and I'm certain that the maintenance people don't get paid well enough to go up against the horror that's been building up in my bathtub drain over the past several years. When I got the Vastar snake drain cleaner I went straight to work. No instructions needed, the concept is pretty simple: You grasp the tool with the end that's a handle, push the pointy end down the drain, and the jagged part catches on the nest of hair that's swirled its way around your plumbing. I didn't even get the thing three inches down before it was getting stuck on clumps of hair and built-up gunk. I gagged my way through getting all nausea-inducing blockage lurking in my bathtub's drainpipe. It's now clear to me why this is a three-pack...there was simply no way I was going to be cleaning off the plastic tool and reusing it. Very happy with this product, glad it comes in a pack." —K.

Get a set of four from Amazon for $5.97+ (available in two lengths).

    13. A hairbrush cleaning tool because spending hours with tweezers trying to individually pull the hairs and grime out of your hair brush is a painstaking task that never ends up being successful anyway. This brush cleaner will put an end to that endless struggle.

A reviewer's hair brush before full of hair and after showing red you couldn't see before
a reviewer's brush while being cleaned and a bunch of stuff that came out in the sink

This tool has three parts to it: a pointed tip for raking and removal of loose hair, stiff bristle for removing hair, and bristles on the end to remove dirt and fluff.

Promising review: "Witchcraft. I tested this out by cleaning my partner’s hairbrush and was so astounded. WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! I clean my brush.  I can soak it, wash it a million times, and my wrist will give out long before I can pick every single nasty oil blob out from the bristles. I usually give up when it’s ‘clean enough’ with some oil blobs still on it purely because I can’t handle the defeat of trying to pry them off every single bristle. Usually this results in me having to buy a new brush every so often. NO MORE. SMUG OIL BLOBS, YOU HAVE MET YOUR MATCH. SUCK IT. Seriously. I picked out the excess hair with the pick, sprayed it down with alcohol, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, rinsed with hot water, and then gleefully (and probably maniacally) brushed LITERALLY EVERYTHING off of my brush within two minutes. Soaped it up and rinsed, and viola! No damage to my brush (even though I was very aggressive) and it looks brand new. I could cry with joy." —Sarah

Get it from Amazon for $11.95.

    14. Bottle-cleaning tablets so your emotional support water bottle you've been using every day for the past year (…without washing…) can be restored back to its freshly purchased state that is *actually* safe to drink out of.

Promising review: "I admit I was skeptical that this would work on my deeply coffee stained, stainless steel coffee tumblers. Usually I have to boil hot water and use vinegar and dishwashing liquid in them and let them sit overnight to get them clean. So I was definitely skeptical how one small tablet with warm water for 20 minutes was going to get them sparkling. The truth of the matter is...it actually did a killer job! I popped one tablet in the bottom of each clean tumbler. Then, I added hot water that I had boiled on the stove (as an added benefit) and left them uncovered for 20 minutes. Halfway through I stirred the water with a bottle brush and then let it sit for the remaining time. Before rinsing them out, I used a bottle brush again and then rinsed. OMG! SPARKLING LIKE NEW!!! SIMPLE, FAST & EASY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!" —Bliss Om

    15. A jetted tub cleaner because idk if you've heard, but those jets can get DISGUSTING...like, never-use-a-shared-tub disgusting. But unfortunately, that gunk doesn't stay only in the hotel tubs; it can build up in your tub at home. Clean out those jets, and stop being afraid of using your tub to its full potential.

Reviewer's tub filled with dirty brown water that's been cleaned out of the jets
Same reviewer's tub with the water removed and a ring of dirt around the edge of the tub
Same reviewer's tub that's now totally clean

Promising review: "We bought a house with a jetted tub. I had anxiety about using the tub because I didn’t know what kind of germs and funk were in the jets. I ordered Oh Yuk before we even closed escrow. And when escrow did close, I got my keys and immediately used Oh Yuk in the tub. The junk that came out was soo gross! I ran it four times and now the tub jets are spotless. It was great being able to take a bath and not worry about someone else’s dirt and funk in my bath water. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!" —Niki D.

before of a reviewer with eczema on their hand
the same reviewer's hand, which now looks moisturized, less red, less cracked, and less angry

Promising review: "I bought this for my husband after reading other reviews. We have tried everything for my husband's very dry, cracked, rough hands. He works outside all year long on his days off and works in a really harsh environment for his job. He is constantly getting deep cracks that develop from use. I am not kidding you when I say this has made his hands as soft as mine! He was so surprised how well it worked the first time. He had me buy a second jar of it to leave at work. If you have extremely dry, hard-to-heal cracked hands get this lotion!!" —Andrea C.

These brushes fit with any drill, but if you don't have one, you can grab one here.

Promising review: "Of all things to clean in the house, the bathroom has to be my least favorite!! I would scrub and scrub and scrub to try and remove calcium deposit stains and soap buildup. It was like my workout for the day! Well after using my new Power Scrubber Drill Brush Attachment, OH MY GOSH!! I am obsessed!! I had so much fun using it. I seriously did not wanna stop cleaning. I did not work up a sweat this time and it was amazing to see the calcium deposit stain wash away along with the soap buildup. Seriously though, the different attachments came in very handy depending on where I was operating the drill. The angled corners of the tile walls were cleaned perfectly with the circular brush. Also, the circular brush was awesome for the drain too. The big scrub brush was spectacular on the bathtub itself while the little scrub brush worked well with the grout lines in the tile. The attachments were easy to put on and take off the drill. They were also easy to clean, dry and put away for the next time. The price was WELL worth the product. There truly is no reason not to make this purchase to make cleaning fun again!!" —Soul-ga Girl Michelle

Once you've finished cleaning, just pull off the cloth, throw it in the washer, and it'll be ready for the next time you have a cleaning frenzy.

Promising review: "These are great to get a thorough cleaning faster. It does take a bit to get through them all. Working quickly, It was two and a half or three minutes for the set and would be longer for the double wide window blinds, so about 30 minutes to do my full house. But being able to do both sides at once is a big time-saver. After doing a set myself, I gave it to the house cleaner, and he thought it was fantastic and wanted the link to buy it himself. It is sturdy. The cloths are easy to remove and put on again for cleaning in the washing machine, and they don't come off during use or anything, despite not having anything that holds them in place." —lygophilia

    19. A bottle of Tend Skin Solution to help you say goodbye to the razor bumps, ingrown hairs, and razor burn that somehow ALWAYS appear after you shave, no matter how much you exfoliate or moisturize.

Promising review: "After many years of razor burn on my face/neck, I finally broke down and bought this per friend's recommendation. I have sensitive skin and had given up hope that anything could help. This totally changed my outlook on shaving. My neck especially would be the worst. I dab it on immediately after I rinse and dry, post-shave. It does burn a bit but that goes away pretty quickly. Totally worth it to not have razor burn/bumps anymore. I only apply it once after shaving even though the directions recommend repeat applications the following day. Go ahead and purchase, you won't be disappointed!" —bill nye

So far, I’ve used it to clean my stove, stainless kitchen sink, and shower (doors and all), and it worked. Also got rid of a deep stain on my kitchen counter that Clorox wipes couldn’t get out. Picked up so much dirt the microfiber towels I used got thrown away; I couldn’t see them being cleaned well enough to reuse. Seriously thinking about ditching all my other kitchen/bathroom cleaners and just using this because so far, it seems to do it all. And it’s not super expensive either. Watch one TikToker use it to remove their self-tanner build-up here!

Promising review: "I love these mitts so much, I wish I found them sooner! For me, brushes and loofas don’t give me enough exfoliation and they fall apart and get gross too fast. These mitts are perfect. Also, they are way more cost effective and easier to use than a sugar scrub type product. I feel like these mitts will last a long time, and they’re easy to clean and have a loop so you can hang them to dry in your shower. I keep one at my place and one at my boyfriend's. They are a little rough so it’s not something you want to use more than twice per week, and use gentle motions in sensitive areas. My skin is so smooth after I use these and it’s helped me get rid of ingrown hairs on my bikini line. Just make sure to moisturize after using! I’m excited to use it for when I apply fake tan in the summer months." —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "I have purchased every callus cream on the market and it has been a waste of time and money. This simple device is a miracle worker. The callous on my big toe is very, very hard and the nearby callus along the side of the foot, while not as large and hard, is also difficult. I have used this device three days in a row, taking off a little at a time and not applying pressure. I apply lotion before and after using it and both areas show substantial improvement. It is important that you do not rush this process. Just a little at a time. Remember how long it took for that callus to form! Because I have been gentle and careful I have no pain. Cleaning is simple. I wholeheartedly recommend!" —desertdragonfly

I'm sure the next one will last longer since all the nasty stuff is now gone. I bought a 20-pack, and I suspect that it could last me the rest of my life. A great value for the money." —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "I have an old shower/bathtub. I tried name brand shower cleaners and bleach to try and clean the soap scum off the tiles and tub. I had no luck and I would cough and get sick because of how strong the smell was. I thought I would try this to save my lungs. I sprayed my entire shower and left it for about 15 minutes. I came back and rinsed off the walls and they were shiny! I've never had such a clean shower. The smell is amazing and subtle. All I smell is tea tree and it didn't affect me at all. The price is also a good deal since the bottle is pretty large. It came with the sprayer separate and the bottle sealed so it wouldn't leak in the box. I highly recommend this." —Amber Erwin

Promising review: "This stuff is the real deal. We have had multiple service calls to the house for this dishwasher — no help at all. Cleaned the filter, tried running the water to heat it first… nothing worked. Dishes were still coming out dirty and smelly. We were prepared to give up and replace our dishwasher. As a last ditch effort, I ordered the Affresh pods, and used two of ‘em. Hallelujah!!! Finally, dishes are coming out clean again. These pods saved me THOUSANDS! So simple and easy to use, I could not be happier." —M

They experienced results overnight, reducing a painful red pimple starting. I will continue to buy these for the kids because the results were hands-down amazing. And my daughter has very sensitive skin." —Tonja Scofield

With this, all you have to do is add it to their water and you'll stop gagging whenever they hit you with a breeze of hot doggie breath.

Note: this shouldn't be a total replacement for brushing their teeth to maintain the best hygiene.

Promising review: "I have a small dog who has always had bad teeth and despite years of (expensive) professional cleanings, she had to have 11 teeth extracted. I saw this in my recommendations and assumed that like the millions of (expensive!) products we’ve tried, it would do nothing and she would hate it. But there were so many customer photos I thought I may as well try this too. My mind is blown…It’s only been a couple of weeks and her teeth are visibly cleaner! Substantially! Not only that, but she even seems to like the flavor of her minty water. I went to refill her water bowl after a hike today and only after I opened the bottle did she come to me and happily slurp down water! She usually has to be cajoled into drinking even after the hottest days (she is cuter than she is bright) so this is saying something! Completely recommend :)" —Caroline

    33. A retainer cleaner because if you're actually following your dentist's instructions of wearing it every day, you'll know no matter how much you brush them, they get coated in some nasty film and turn yellow. These fizzing tablets will eliminate that from even the hard-to-reach areas, while also eliminating that funky smell they've developed.

Promising review: "I really loved this product. I am currently waiting for a new Invisalign set. My old Invisalign needed to be cleaned. I read the reviews and decided to purchase. OMG it worked! There was a fresh taste and they were clean. I wished I had found this product sooner. I did let them soak overnight only because I had been wearing them for the last four months. Nothing happened to Invisalign; there was no weakness or anything. Just very clean and fresh. If I could have given the product 10 stars I would have." —Lisa R.

Promising review: "I have an elderly dog who has occasional accidents and a cat with chronic bladder issues. Without this product, I’m pretty sure I would’ve burned down the house. On fresh accidents, it works with just one treatment. It removes the stains, and more importantly, it completely removes the odors. On older, set-in stains, it completely removes stains and odors after several repeat treatments. I’ve tried so many products over the years. Hands-down, this is the best." —SR Kelly

    35. A stainless-steel tongue scraper designed to scrape away your bad breath, but reviewers have also found that it helped their mouths feel extra clean *and* enhanced their tastebuds! Squeaky clean mouth AND more flavorful food? Sign me up!

    reviewer's yellow tinged tongue
    same reviewer's tongue now clean

TBH, you'll almost never find me brushing my tongue, partially because I forget about it constantly and partially because it makes me gag and I hate it. When I wouldn't brush my tongue, I would rarely feel like my mouth was fully clean, and that makes sense since I've heard a large reason you have bad breath stems from your tongue. I wanted to find an alternative solution, and that's where these scrapers come in. I honestly can't really tell you *why* these don't make me gag but brushing my tongue does, but I can tell you that's the truth. The first time I did it, it was pretty gross, IDK if it was something I ate that day or just a build up from never having used one of these before, but it has definitely gotten progressively less gross since I started using it. It's definitely working to make my mouth feel fresher!!

    36. A cooktop cleaner to take the stress out of cooking, because cooking = messes. I know there's been at least a few (a lot of) times I have been cooking and my pot boils over. The kit includes cooktop cleaner, cleaning pad, cleaning pad grip tool and scraper.

Promising review: "I especially like the razor. I have a brand new glass top stove, and the first couple of nights, already got something stuck on, which no amount of scrubbing (three types of scrubbies) would remove. Very frustrating. I saw this in a list of Amazon favorites and ordered. It worked the first try!!! Razor is an enormous help, but the liquid is excellent, and having the scrubby mounted on a handle gives it a lot more oomph. I won’t be out of this ever!" —Bev Kirkman

    37. A reviewer-beloved anti-dandruff shampoo designed to get to the root (see what I did there…like hair roots…) of the problem. This shampoo can help stop what is causing the dandruff, instead of just trying to treat the symptoms of flaking hair and itchiness.

Promising review: "I saw this product from a TikTok video. I was hesitant. I have been dealing with dandruff for almost 10 years, fortunately not that heavy but enough where it was embarrassing. I tried everything. Leave in conditioner, tea tree oil, Head and Shoulders, etc. One brand did work for a couple of days but that's it. But this product has worked EFFECTIVELY. Dandruff free for two months so far. Can leave your hair feeling a little dry so just use conditioner and it will balance out. If other products aren't working for you with dandruff I can confidently recommend this one." —Martin C.
