Some of us like it, some of us hate it, but no matter what, it's unavoidable (at least in most places). Cold weather is coming and wishing it away won't keep you warm. In order to thrive this winter — or even just survive — bundle up in a brand-new coat from one of these stores.
1. Lululemon is typically known for its athleisure, but what some people don't know is they are a Canadian company that also knows a thing or two (or three or four) about cold-weather fashion.
2. Nordstrom offers a HUGE variety of coats (wool, puffer, fleece, fur, quilted, etc.), including many from popular brands. Plus, with their famously good return policy, if you realize you don't actually love it, you won't have to worry about if they'll take it back or not.
3. Eddie Bauer has been making apparel for over 100 years, so you better believe they know what they're doing. Their thoughtfully designed coats have all the features (ex: waterproof, seam-sealed, secure pockets, different temperature ratings) so you can decide which coat is perfect for you.
4. North Face evokes memories of those colorful fleece jackets we used to wear back in the 2000s, but they are so much more than that. Their innovative technologies have led them to create hundreds of coats that keep you warm and insulated without weighing you down.
5. Target carries pretty much any item you can imagine, so of course they have coats, too. And unlike some stores that are strictly cold-weather gear, Target has a much wider assortment of styles and patterns to offer.
6. Rebdolls offers bold styles and colors so you can express yourself and stand out. If you want inclusive sizing, but exclusive styles, this is your store!
7. H&M will have you crying tears of joy when you see the styles, colors, and most importantly, the ✨prices✨.
8. Urban Outfitters has all the trendy options that will keep you warm this year. Warning: if you are drawn to everything that's soft, watch out. I have fallen into the rabbit hole a few times here (aka I have two of the exact same coat bc it's soft and I love it, but they don't make it anymore😩).
9. L.L. Bean is one of the O.G. outdoorsy brands. And they aren't just known for the Bean boots that had us all in a chokehold in the 2010s — their outerwear is also a standout category.
10. Amazon, because of course you can get coats online and have them delivered oh-so-fast. Plus, you can also get yourself "THE" viral Amazon coat that is actually super warm and practical.
11. American Eagle gives you the warmth you need at the price you want (aka you won't spend over $150 on a coat! *cries happy tears*). You can also check out some jackets from their sub-brand, Aerie, here!
12. Noize focuses on creating sustainably sourced and cruelty-free products that are practical and fashionable. Plus, they are a Canadian company, so they know about needing extra warmth (they have coats designed to shield you from temperatures as low as -22 degrees!!).
13. Patagonia not only wants to help you, but the planet at the same time. They focus on creating products to last so you never need a replacement, and fewer coats are wasted. Plus 1% of every sale goes to environmental preservation funds!
14. Abercrombie & Fitch is BACK and this time they aren't just selling collared shirts with a moose logo. If you haven't gotten back in to shopping there, let their coats be what draws you in (it's working for me…some of these coats are *super* cute).

16. Canada Goose is the perfect choice if you're looking for a coat that is going to last you a lifetime and keep you 🔥warm🔥 (choose between the five temperature ratings).
17. Burton has W A R M coats, because yes, the company of snowboarders who live to spend all day on the slopes knows about needing to stay warm. AKA they will do whatever it takes to create the warmest gear to keep them going on their 15th run down the mountain.
18. Old Navy is making a comeback, and no, I don't just mean with their festive 4th of July shirts we somehow all had to wear as kids. They have coats that aren't just warm, but also up-to-date with alllll the trends, and incredibly versatile so there is *at least* one you can find to fit any wardrobe.
19. Columbia specializes in keeping you warm and protected from the elements no matter what outdoor activity you're into.
20. J. Crew offers a lot of colorful options if you're looking to stand out from the crowd this winter. Or, for those of us whose closet couldn't be more full of neutrals, they have those classic colors covered as well.
