"XO, Kitty" Season 2 Is On The Way — Here's Everything We Know So Far

That cliffhanger has us ready for more.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before was a massive hit in the Netflix rom-com canon, so it's hardly surprising that its spinoff series, XO, Kitty, was also widely adored. It was SO widely adored that Netflix renewed it for a second season in June 2023!

Here's everything we know about the new season:

🚨 Consider this your spoiler warning for Season 1 of XO, Kitty! 🚨

The first thing you need to know is that it'll probably be a while before we see any new episodes of Kitty and her antics.

Since it's been a while, here's a refresher of everything that happened in Season 1.

Given how things left off with Yuri and Min-ho, it's safe to say Kim and Lee will be back for Season 2 — the real question is whether they'll be back in Korea or stateside in Portland.

Considering the season ended with Kitty being expelled from KISS and heading back to her hometown of Portland, Oregon, there's a chance Season 2 will take place there.

If that's the case, filming will likely occur in Vancouver, as with the To All the Boys I've Loved Before movies. Details around specific locations have yet to be announced.

We'll also surely see more of John Corbett as Kitty's dad and Sarayu Blue as her stepmom – AKA, the cutest couple ever.

It's also possible we'll see Lara Jean (Lana Condor), Kitty's older sister and protagonist of the TATBILB series. Although XO, Kitty is all about Kitty, Lara Jean's iconic presence is dearly missed, and it's reasonable to assume she may make a cameo!

Condor spoke fondly of the spinoff series and reprising her role in recent statement: "I would definitely never say never [to returning]. I mean, I think it’s pretty clear that I love the To All the Boys world and have dedicated a lot of my young adulthood to it. To me, that world feels like home." It seems like there's a good chance Lara Jean may make an appearance if Kitty is back home in Portland!

Of course, Kitty might be readmitted to KISS, since when we last see Yuri, she's telling her mother, the KISS director, that she should let Kitty back in. Whether or not Yuri's mother re-readmits Kitty is the big question for Season 2.

If Kitty does end up back at KISS, the new season will probably film in the beautiful city of Seoul again.

It's impossible to say right now when the new season will premiere since it's likely that it hasn't even started filming yet. Netflix may announce more details when production starts as they've done for their other shows. Once we know that, we might be able to guess when a trailer will drop if production for Season 2 follows a similar timeline as Season 1.

Production for the first season began in April 2022, and we saw the first trailer for the series about a year later, a few weeks before the show hit Netflix in May.

Another source we can surely count on for updates is Anna Cathcart herself, whose Instagram is a wealth of behind-the-scenes snippets from the show.
