Craig Sager, NBA's Suit Aficionado, Receives Third Bone Marrow Transplant
The colorful sideline reporter continued his brave fight against leukemia with the help of an anonymous donor.
Even if you don't watch basketball, you may know TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager for his unorthodox suit collection.
Here's another...
...and another.
In a tragic turn of events, the legendary reporter was diagnosed with leukemia in 2014. After a remission period that allowed him to return to broadcasting in 2015, the cancer returned less than a month later.
The sports world mourned the diagnosis of their favorite courtside reporter. In July, the ESPY Awards presented Sager with the Jim Valvano Award for Perseverance (also known as the Jimmy V Award).
To this day, Sager is still fighting. On Tuesday, Sager's son Craig Jr. announced via Twitter that his father received an anonymous bone marrow donation, and would undergo yet another procedure.
On Wednesday, Sager received the transplant.
Following the procedure, Sager received an outpouring of support from the sports world.
He even had a few visitors stop by!
Even from the hospital bed, Sager continues to maintain a positive attitude.
Sager still hopes to get back behind the camera, but he may have another wish fulfilled soon. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, his favorite team holds the best record in Major League Baseball, and looks poised to end its 108-year World Series drought.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Sager as he continues his brave fight. For now, here's another one of his incredible suits.
