Which Japanese Yokai Are You?

You are Kasa-obake (Japanese: 傘おばけ), a mythical umbrella ghost with one eye and one leg. To get to the supermarket you have to jump there on your one leg, but you can easily reach the products at the back of the shelves with your long protruding tongue.

You are Bakeneko (Japanese: 化け猫, "changed cat"), a cat that has turned into a ghost. You have various superpowers, including transforming into a human being and possessing humans. Sometimes you can even speak human languages, much to the surprise of those unfortunate enough to run into you on a lonely mountain path. Your hobby is dancing, usually with a napkin on your head.

You are Akaname (Japanese: 垢嘗, lit 'red licker') . You're a demon that sneaks into people's bathrooms late at night, licking the grime off their dirty toilets and sinks. You're the quintessential 'neat freak'.

You are Nobusuma (Japanese: 野衾), a bat yokai with magical powers. Your diet consists of nuts, fruits, berries, and the blood that you suck from unsuspecting humans that you attack at night. Your favorite prank to play on humans is swooping down onto lanterns and blowing out the flame.

You are Momonjii (Japanese: 百々爺), a hairy, beast-like old man who used to be an ape. You wander desolate mountain roads alone at night, looking for chances to assault passersby. You have a low tolerance for loud, complaining and bratty kids. Everyone who encounters you soon becomes gravely ill - you literally make people sick.

You are the Hihi (Japanese: ひひ), a monkey-like beast who lives deep in the mountains. Your name comes from the sound you make when you laugh. You primarily feed on wild animals, but if you have the opportunity you also prey on humans, and if you meet a female human you are likely to run off with her. The only way victims can escape your wrath is by making you laugh, because when you laugh your lips cover your eyes, blinding you to their escape.

Hihi (Monkey Beast)

You are Onibaba (Japanese: 鬼婆), the Demon Hag of Adachigahara. You're a ghost who takes on the appearance of a shriveled old woman with wild hair. You lure unsuspecting strangers to your home by acting like a kind and gentle lady, before killing them and cooking them for dinner.

You are a Kappa (Japanese: 河童, lit. 'river child'). Kappa are mischievous tricksters who live in rivers and lakes. They enjoy playing pranks on humans, from farting loudly to looking up women's kimonos. Some Kappa are said to be malicious and drag humans under water to rape or eat them. Your favorite foods are eggplant, soba and cucumber, and some people throw these foods into a river before bathing to appease you.

You are Shirime (Japanese: 尻目, literally 'butt eye'). You have no face, but can see out of the eye in your butthole, said to be so bright that it blinds onlookers if they see it. You wander the streets in a kimono, asking strangers for a moment of their time. When they're looking you drop your kimono, bend over and show them your butt eye.
