🚨 Major spoilers ahead for Season 2, Episode 8 of Ted Lasso. 🚨
Content warning: This post contains mentions of suicide and abuse.
If you're like me, you haven't stopped weeping since watching the most recent episode of Ted Lasso. But before we get to it, a lot happened in "Man City" (Season 2, Episode 8), so here's a quick refresher:

But the real emotional climax of the episode came during an intense locker room sequence. First, Jamie's dad (who attended the match) comes into the room and starts verbally abusing his son, so much so that Jamie punches him in the face and Beard escorts him out of the room, leaving Jamie stunned.

The moments that follow are tense and fraught, with Jamie and his teammates and coaches standing around in shock from the interaction.

That's when, in a beautiful display of compassion, Roy Kent marches over to Jamie and gives him a massive hug — Jamie is briefly tentative, but quickly hugs Roy back as everyone in the room allows Jamie to be comforted by Roy.

Here's the scene in its entirety if you're looking for a little mid-day sob:
this is my all time favorite moment from ted lasso
And in case the episode wasn't emotional enough, the moment caused Ted to have a visceral reaction — he immediately called up Sharon and opened up to her about his own father:

Overall, it was a deeply moving and heart-wrenching episode — and everyone on Twitter couldn't stop talking about it. Here's what people were saying:
1.
Roy Kent's hug to Jamie Tartt while George Harrison's 'Beware of the Darkness' plays may be the most beautiful scene in #TedLasso history so far. And he does it because he reminded him of his niece's "living piece of shit" father 💔
2.
This scene destroyed me for real! Best scene of the season imho. Roy comforting him and Jamie accepting that comfort shows how much they both grew. @phildunster should get all the awards just for this, my god! And Ted's face watching them 🥺 #TedLasso
