Carly And Freddie Finally Got Together On "iCarly," And No One Is More Excited Than Miranda Cosgrove And Nathan Kress

After 15 years, it finally happened — Carly and Freddie shared a kiss and decided to be together on last week's new episode of the iCarly reboot, a long-awaited step forward for them.

The episode, titled "iMake New Memories," found Carly finally telling Freddie how she feels about him — feelings which he's, of course, had on and off for her forever.

In case you never watched the reboot, Freddie has actually been married a couple of times and even has a stepdaughter, Millicent, who's a main character on the show.

To catch you up to speed: On the reboot, Carly has had feelings for Freddie, but since he just got out of a relationship, he told her they needed to be friends — and after a series of miscommunications, both Carly and Freddie are left in tears.

But at the end of the episode, Carly finally works up the nerve to tell Freddie how she really feels — all while standing in front of a bunch of pictures of the two of them throughout the years.

Freddie then tells Carly how important their friendship is, and they promise to stay friends no matter what happens with their romantic relationship.

As an aside, if you'll recall, the two briefly dated on the original show after Freddie saved Carly from a taco truck, but they broke up and would only date again if the whole "hero thing" wore off — so Carly calling him her hero is a callback to that.

Anyway, the two share a kiss, and then before leaning in for a second one, Freddie does his classic iCarly countdown.

Miranda Cosgrove told Entertainment Weekly that the countdown wasn't even in the original script, but it ended up working so well it became the last line of the episode. 

While Miranda and many fans are excited to see Freddie and Carly get together, there are many fans who still ship Freddie and Sam (Jennette McCurdy), aka Seddie, together — of course, the pair were in a long-term relationship on the original series.

"There were times, as the character Carly, when we were filming the original show, I thought that they should be together on the show," Miranda told EW about Freddie and Sam. "I love the idea of people that always butt heads, that don't really get along and are always calling each other out, falling in love. They do love each other on the show as people and they were a good couple when they were on the original series. I think if Freddie had ended up with Sam it would've been a really good ending as well."

And Miranda isn't the only one on board this ship — in fact, Nathan Kress (who plays Freddie) appears to be the Creddie captain:
