1. 1-0 To The Albion
...Despite this sort of guff beforehand
Barnsley, Sheff Weds, Huddersfield, Yeovil, Charlton, Millwall etc etc
But we grounded out the win in the end...
2. Results went our way...
Ipswich, Forest, Blackburn and Forest all failed to win.
3. Back to Form ?
Never Man of the Match (Bruno ? , Solly March ?) but after 2 disallowed goals, countless non connected headers, one finally went in and he played well off David Rodriguez today.
But Oscar's not worried about the lack of goals...
4. Frustrated Player on the Bench ?
Swansea won 3-0. Kemy was on the bench but didn't play.
5. We'll always love Donny fans
A terrific 493 Rovers fans made the trip
I just want to credit their club. They've done everything right on and off the pitch since we were on the football scrap heap together. Their stadium is 200 times better than ours. We don't need one that big admittedly but it has a bit of character about it for a new en. The acoustics are pretty good as well even though they don't make that much noise. It shows our place up as the cheap soulless bowl it is. The banners/pictures around the ground of their "legends" are a great touch as well. Queue's a mile long in the club shop, which contained some nice stuff. From quality clothing to some fantastic pictures, including ones from the last time we played there when the ground was rammed. I honestly wouldn't buy a thing from ours baring a shirt I don't think. It's full of cheap tat. Finally the way their team play is a breath of fresh air. They all play football the right way, nobody is scared to be on the ball where ever they are on the pitch. No wonder they get near 30k every week now, they do everything right. Whoever has orchestrated taking them onto the next level to what we are at from where they were has done a grand job. Yes I know they have spent too much, but they have got most of the little things right as well.

8. Another difficult day at the Amex for Billy Sharp
Soft Red Card though...
But...
9. Strong Amex debuts for Stephens...
Rodriguez looks like a man who is a striker first and a winger second. He made numerous attacking runs on the shoulder of the last defender and was often left wanting as the throughballs he looks to thrive on never came. When the passes did come, they would come too late for his run and he would be left offside. He is clearly a hard worker and very quick; two attributes that will make him popular with the Albion faithful. As he gets used to his role and his colleagues get used to him, expect him to grow in stature and start scoring – if he gets the service he could find himself through on goal with devastating frequency.
2 up front !!

13. "Bums on Seats don't pay for football clubs"
Its been a week of fretting about Albion's finances and relatively small season ticket increases. The best FFP coverage was via football business academic; Kieran Maguire; a guest on this weeks Albion Roar.
