If you're Australian, you definitely know about the Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cake Book.
If your parents didn't ever make one for you, then surely you've at least eaten one at a birthday party back when you were a kid.
The author of the 1980 book, Pamela Clark, sat down with ABC to chat about the cakes, and she gave us a damn perfect interview.
The best line was when she shared how damn hard the truck cake is to make.

Pamela also revealed that often they'd only make the cake once, with no practice, and shoot it then and there.

The Women's Weekly would get sent letters and photos from parents who made the cakes for their kids.

Pamela's favourite cake is, of course, the Dolly Varden cake, because "it is so mindbogglingly simple".

She also showed a picture of a goth version she made for her granddaughter, which is truly iconic.
