This can be used with dental work, fillings, and glues.

Promising review: "This product really works! I was a little skeptical at first but decided to give it a shot based on the great reviews and I’m so happy I did. I started getting more tartar than usual from wearing Invisalign and wanted something to help remove and prevent it. This product cleared up the new tartar pretty quickly, within a month, and is helping with old tartar that is now exposed as my teeth have shifted. I love this stuff and I will be a customer for life!" —Victoria

Get it from Amazon for $26.95.

    2. This tube of Sensodyne Rapid Relief toothpaste to help reduce sensitivity so you don't immediately regret having a pint of ice cream once you get that familiar pain in your teeth. It also helps protect your teeth from cavities.

    Sensodyne Rapid Relief

Promising review: "I have very sensitive teeth and my dentist recommended this brand of toothpaste. I used to use a different brand that would whiten my teeth. So I really wanted a toothpaste that was for both sensitive teeth and something that would continue to whiten my teeth. To my surprise, this works perfectly. I no longer have sensitive teeth. I can bite into ice cream without pain. I can drink ice cold iced tea or hot tea without curling my toes. My teeth are still nice and white as well. Although I was very skeptical at first, I am very happy with the results and this my new toothpaste. It doesn't have a strong taste. My son uses this toothpaste and he is very picky and doesn't like anything too minty." —2cute2toss

Get it from Amazon for $5.72.

    3. A pack of four dental guards with a melt-and-mold personalized tray. They'll help you avoid grinding your teeth while you sleep at night, which can cause discomfort.

A reviewer's molded mouthguard in case

Promising review: "You know how your old shoes feel comfortable, but then you get a new pair and you realize how much better the new ones are? My new dental guard is like that. The fit is snug and, while I prefer the small one that doesn't cover my very last molars, the padding is sufficient to prevent any upper to lower contact. To be honest, I don't know how it works for whitening because my teeth are sensitive and whitening hurts, but this guard does everything else perfectly, so five stars all around." —Jammies

Get it from Amazon for $17.99.

    4. This remineralization gel you can try if you suffer from teeth sensitivity. It'll help strengthen your enamel if your teeth have become weaker due to whitening.

Nova White gel in two syringes

Promising review: "I started whitening my teeth two weeks ago. They were quite sensitive and my gums were tender. After one application of this remineralization gel, the hot and cold sensitivities are gone, and my gums don’t feel burned. This is mandatory if you don’t want to give up whitening because of sensitivity and pain. It's easy to use, has clear directions, and a refreshing flavor. I’d recommend this remineralization gel to anyone!" —KSA

    5. A pack of Simply Gum formulated with tree sap and no artificial sugars to keep you happily chewin' on instead of feeling aches in your molars from the extra sugar.

    Simply Gum packet
    Simply Gum

Promising review: "This gum is AMAZING! I've tried the ginger and coffee, both amazing! I just ordered maple, can't wait to try it. I haven't been able to chew gum for a few years now because A) I refuse to use fake sugars and ALL gums now contain it and B) the sad state of my teeth and TMJ. But this gum is all natural and also so soft, it's easy to chew even with bridge work and painful, sensitive teeth. I hope this company stays in business a good long time so I continue to have the wonderful option to chew gum again!" —AA

Get it from Amazon for $11.23+ (available in packs of one, two, and three).

    7. A unique coconut ginger flavored toothpaste if you aren't the biggest fan of mint but have only been settling for your nauseatingly minty fresh toothpaste...until now, that is. Its formula is free of artificial flavors and fights to help remineralize teeth and reduce sensitivity.

    The toothpaste in a tube

Promising review: "I have really sensitive teeth, and honestly I didn't take good care of my teeth when I was a teenager, so my enamel is weak. I like this toothpaste and I feel like it's also got some whitening power, too? The flavor of this Coco Ginger one is...different. It's kind of nice to brush my teeth with this at night because it makes me feel like I just had a snack (lol). You can definitely taste the ginger but it's not spicy. It's kind of fun to have on hand in case you want to shake things up a bit; it keeps things interesting. And it seems like both of their flavors really taste clean. Like, it doesn't have a super artificial toothpaste-y taste to it like all of the name brands. I'd recommend it." —Alex

Get it from Boka for $12.

    8. And a sonic toothbrush with charcoal bristles that remove stains, a timer that lets you know how long to brush and when to move to another part of your mouth, AND multiple brushing modes for different needs. In other words, it might help you obtain the cleanest teeth of your life.

    Burst Oral Care,

Promising review: "I love my new sonic toothbrush! I've had it for three weeks and my teeth have never felt so clean! This brush is absolutely worth every single penny. I love how it has multiple settings and pauses to let you know when you should move on to the next section! I love brushing my teeth! It's so easy and enjoyable!" —Terry

Get it from Burst Oral Care for $69.99 (available in three colors).

    9. These floss picks that'll become your new favorite way to remove food bits from in between your gums — you can literally do it with just one hand, unlike with traditional dental floss.

Packs of the picks, which have a piece of floss attached to two ends inside the bags

Promising review: "I was watching a friend's home one night and the following morning discovered the bag of these flossy sticks on the counter. I always hated flossing and did so maybe once a month. I learned that I had crappy floss because this floss is like silk running between your teeth! I immediately purchased a million of them and love to floss now. Dentists should ONLY recommend these. Why do companies make crappy floss!?" —R Mauro

Get it from Amazon for $23.94 (available in six packs of 75).

    10. Or a regular pack of Oral-B dental floss if you prefer to carefully wrap it around each tooth and gently shimmy those brunch bits out from in between your teeth.

Promising review: "I LOVE this floss like no other! It is extra-thick and cushiony, totally unlike regular skinny, waxy floss, and so much better for anyone whose teeth aren't super close together (mine were professionally spaced with braces as a kid, so they have uniform spacing between them that regular floss just doesn't seem to adequately clean). It's woven and soft, so it kind of feels like brushing the spaces between your teeth, which is very satisfying, and since it's soft, it doesn't hurt or cut into your gums like regular floss can. This is my dream floss and I can't live without it!" —J. Ladapo

Get a two-pack from Amazon for $13.48+ (also available as a cool mint flavor for $5.12 for a pack of two).

    11. This jar of wine block because as much as you love your red vino, you hate looking in the mirror and seeing your pearly whites stained red after you finish your glass. Just rub this on your teeth — it's tasteless so you won't alter the taste of your wine, and it'll act as a buffer between your drink and your teeth.

A model holding the small jar of Wine Block in front of a glass of wine

Promising review: "My teeth always stain when I drink red wine and it's pretty embarrassing. I have just been living with it all these years until now. I just used it for an all-day wine tour and came out of that with white teeth. Hooray! The texture is nice and there isn't any flavor to interfere with your wine. The fact that it doubles as a lip balm is a bonus." —DDR777

Get it from Amazon for $12.95.

    12. A tongue cleaner to finally rid your mouth of any odor-causing muck that's been overstaying its welcome on your tongue.

Promising review: "Oh my. So I recently noticed my tongue had a yellow tint to it. The internet tells me it's dead skin cells so I order this tongue scraper. I've always brushed my tongue, but in 34 years I've never scraped. The results were amazing. I probably went a little too hard in the back and my tongue's a little sore, but that's on me. I can't believe the results! Tongue scrapers are not getting the attention they deserve!" —B-lo

Get it from Amazon for $6.95+ (available in packs of one and two).

    13. This dentist-recommended oral rinse because you've tried basically everything you could think of, but your stinky breath appears to be more stubborn than you expected. This stuff'll help stop funky mouth odors in their tracks.

A reviewer showing the bottle of oral rinse

Promising review: "I have always had excellent dental hygiene but there was still an odor in my mouth. I upped my dental cleaning even more but nothing worked and it improved minimally. My husband mentioned reading something about sulfur buildup, and a Google search led to info about 'volatile sulphur compounds' as well as this particular type of mouthwash. I was used to mouthwash burning a little but this mostly tastes like water. I followed the instructions and swished a capful for a full minute and then gargled for another minute just to be sure. I had him smell my breath and he just said 'Wow, so it was just sulphur!' I don't feel self-conscious about kissing anymore or talking to customers at my job. Now I don't feel like I'm showering everyone with my rancid dog breath. This mouthwash isn't cheap, but it works for me so I think it's worth it." —R.H.

    14. A set of two collapsible silicone straws so you can sip your cold beverages to your heart's content without your teeth screaming from the sensitivity. These fold up and fit perfectly inside small carrying cases.

The two straws also come with two cleaning brushes.

Promising review: "I purchased this product for me and my best friend, as we're trying to eliminate plastic straws from our lives. I love how small it is, and I love the design, as I have it clipped on my keys and looks super cute. The straws are a super cute color, and it doesn't seem to be fading. The straw also had a pretty good length, but it is not adjustable, considering it is silicone. The case is not that big, compared to my AirPods case. I truly love this and would definitely recommend it as a gift." —victoria hernandez

    16. A coconut lip scrub that'll leave your lips feeling soooo incredibly soft and moisturized. Time to say bye-bye to the dead, dry peeling skin on your mouth.

A model using their finger to get product out of the small lip scrub jar

    It's also vegan and cruelty-free.

Promising review: "My lips have been so extremely chapped for the past few months from biting my lips constantly and from the harsh weather conditions. I would constantly moisturize my lips with whatever I had (lip balms, Vaseline, you name it) and NOTHING was working, so I knew that it was time to start looking into lip scrubs. I have to say that my lips haven't felt so soft like this in so long. On the container it says to use a pea-size amount, and that really is all you need. A little really goes a long way. If you are someone who doesn't want (or doesn't have the resources) to make a homemade scrub then — coming from a current college student who definitely doesn't have the resources or time to make their own — get this and it will be worth it!!" —Shaneil

Get it from Amazon for $9.99.

    17. This highly rated water flosser with 10 pressure settings that'll leave your mouth feeling squeaky clean. It removes plaque and helps promote gum health., Amazon

It includes three classic picks, an orthodontic pick, a plaque seeker pick (that's safe for implants or other dental work you might've had done), a pick for periodontal pockets (space between a tooth and the gum), and a toothbrush tip.

Promising review: "I am the son of a dentist, the brother of a dentist, and the son of a professor of dentistry at one of the prominent dental schools in Ohio. Needless to say oral hygiene has been beaten into me since I was a child. In the '70s and '80s people used water picks, and for some reason they seem to have gone out of vogue. A good one completely replaces the need for dental floss, which most people hate to use. Having grown up with a WaterPik in my house and always owning one I can tell you that this is the best one I've ever had." —Dan Miller

Get it from Amazon for $69.97 (available in eight colors and two styles).

    18. A portable UV toothbrush sanitizer to zap those lingering germs that you may be putting right back into your mouth if your toothbrush isn't as clean as you think it is.

A reviewer showing the toothbrush inside a slim case

Promising review: "This is a very economical way to keep your toothbrush germ-free in the bathroom. Germs float all over that room, no matter how clean you keep it — this device has kept my intake of colds and viruses lower than normal...I swear it. Had another one of these for three years and it died...three years for < $10? Good deal. Gonna give one to everyone I know for Christmas. Easy to use, easy to clean, perfect solution!" —M. Pelland

Get it from Amazon for $10.71.

    19. This starter kit with a charcoal bristle toothbrush, toothpaste, and minty floss because it'll grace your mouth with a long-lasting feeling of ~clean~. I tried this set and while I love each of the components, I was blown away at how the toothpaste helped decrease my teeth's sensitivity to cold foods!

I bought this set months ago because my current toothpaste didn't do much in the way of helping my teeth feel stronger or cleaner — I saw Boka in an Instagram ad and did a little digging. The toothpaste promised to be safe for sensitive teeth (like mine!!), claimed to be free of artificial flavors and could help remineralize teeth, and contained ingredients like green tea, mint, and aloe. The brush, I learned, has a biodegradable handle and odor-reducing charcoal bristles. And the floss claimed to be naturally made and mint flavored. So I ordered my starter set, which included those three items.

The toothpaste doesn't lather much but has a sweet, minty taste that actually did leave my mouth feeling squeaky clean after the first brush. The mint smell lingered, which I loved. And after several weeks of use, I noticed that eating frozen foods no longer left my front teeth aching and feeling sensitive (whoa). And the brush looks super plain and simple, but the bristles were suuuuuper silky soft and didn't make my gums bleed even when I brushed really hard. It's been around four months and the brush is still in great shape, too. And the floss was like the cherry on top of it all! It's thicker than other dental flosses — sometimes super thin floss feels like it's cutting into your gums, so that wasn't an issue here. And even though it was mint flavored, it didn't have a burning sensation like other items with a super strong mint flavor would. Overall, this set is pretty impressive, especially considering the price point!

Get it from Boka for $20.

    20. A dental gel that's clinically proven to help remove plaque, which will in turn diminish bad breath and the presence of tartar.

The gel in a small tube

Promising review: "This is not toothpaste in the traditional sense. It is a chemical designed to counter the natural chemical reaction in one’s mouth which causes gum disease. It works in spades. Used it for a year and the hygienist wanted to know how I was able to avoid gingivitis. They all use it now at the dentist's office. The product is expensive compared to toothpaste, but dirt cheap compared to gum disease." —fourbyfive

Get it from Amazon for $24.95 (available in three flavors).

    21. And this pack of tooth decay-fighting gum so you can keep your breath feeling oh-so fresh without worrying that your chewing gum habit will cause tooth decay (it's formulated with xylitol, which studies say reduces the risk of tooth decay if used regularly).

The pack of gum with small rectangular gum chiclets

Promising review: "Dentist-recommended gum with xylitol for my grandson. He likes the taste of this one best so I order the 20-count. Lasts several months and then I reorder. This is the best price and he has the gum available so he does not buy other sugar or artificially sweetened gum by the pack. If your kids chew gum, buy this and save the teeth." —SJC

Get a 20-pack from Amazon for $15.18+ (available in seven flavors and packs of one, two, and 20).
