Sure everyone's entitled to their opinion but OF COURSE you don't put the milk in first. How are you to know if the tea will be your ideal colour? Are you Raven from 'That's So Raven'? Can you gaze into the future and see what it will look like? No.

There are too many flimsy, diddly mugs that mean your cuppa is cold midway through. You need something more industrial to properly retain heat. Ideally a hunk of stone with a small sipping hole carved into it.

9. Forgetting all about the bloody thing after you've made it

Setting it down somewhere, going about your life and coming back to realise it's freezing. And you can't microwave it because frankly, you're not some kind of animal.

10. Not being able to get a proper cuppa to takeaway anywhere

Want a skinny caramal coffee with espresso beans from Kenya? To-go? No problem. Want a builders tea? No chance. There's more than enough coffee shops, tea to-go really needs to become a thing already.

But it's kind of okay because tea-drinking is a perfect excuse when at home to not do anything.

It's the drink equivalent of painting your nails and waiting for them to dry. "I'll do that, let me just finish my tea" is the perfect prelude before you rinse that drink for a good 30 minutes by which point the person who asked you to do something has probably don't it themselves.
