    The Woodbridge Inn, Coalport

    Who? – The Woodbridge is situated on the banks of the River Severn, a mile downstream from Ironbridge in Shropshire, and is named after the wooden bridge that once connected the pub to the village of Coalport on the opposite bank.The pub was built at the same time as the bridge, in around 1785.

    Who? – What a view hey?! The history of The Sovereign goes back over 160 years to the reign of King George IV when a local entrepreneur, Seth Senior built a brewery on the site in 1829. Legend has it the business was started with a borrowed sovereign and many believe that in commemoration of its origins, a gold coin is still buried somewhere on the premises!
