These Fake Book Covers Based On Popular Songs Are Amazing

Would 100% read Hotel California.

The Online Pen Company reimagined popular songs as books, and the fake covers they designed are amazingly on point.

Adele's "Someone Like You" would definitely make the perfect romance novel.

This one for "Hotel California" by the Eagles turns the lyric "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!" into a fake blurb for the book.

Barry Manilow's "Copacabana" works surprisingly well as a mystery novel.

David Bowie's "Space Oddity" is, of course, a sci-fi book.

This one for Michael Jackson's "Thriller" is published by "Bubbles Books," a nod to Jackson's pet chimpanzee.

The lyric "I'm in love with the shape of you" from Ed Sheeran's hit song also doubles as the perfect book blurb.

Peter Bingham, the designer, told BuzzFeed about his inspiration for the covers:

They say every good song tells a story, so we wanted to put that to the test and recreate these classic songs as novels to see how well they work as actual stories.

We thought long and hard about which songs would make satisfactory novel. In the end we chose those that told a complete story and fit nicely into specific genres. Bowie was an obvious choice for Sci-Fi, Hotel California made a cracking holiday read and we just couldn’t escape the feeling that Adele’s Someone Like You would work as a Mills & Boon-style romantic novella.
