This penis sits in a glass jar of formaldehyde on display at The Russian Museum of Erotica in St. Petersburg. The penis is over 100 years old allegedly belonging to that of Grigori Rasputin, a famous Russian historical figure from the early 20th century.

Rasputin was a peasant who weaseled his way into the Russian monarchy with his apparent mystical powers to heal by way of prayer. Fortunately for him the heir to the throne suffered from haemophilia B, a blood clotting disorder. He proved to be the only one who could heal the boy, gaining the trust of Alexandra Romanov, wife of then Tsar Nicolas. He became their son Alexie's healer.

Basically he gained power through this position and abused it greatly. Rasputin was know to be a womanizer and a severe alcoholic. He was apart of this whole weird religious colt. He would coax woman into having sex with him saying that in order to become close with god they must commit sin in order to have something to repent about. This is what he believed, so naturally he sinned all the time in order to repent and become closer with god.

Shit hit the fan when the First World War posed a threat to Russia. Tsar Nicholas went to the front line with the soldiers leaving Alexandra in charge of Russia. She confided in Rasputin as her advisor and he abused his power further resulting in government corruption. There were also rumors that he was sticking it to Alexandria with his 12 inch ding dong. There is even a story that he went to the balcony of the palace completely naked, waved his penis around and screamed out "This is what rules Russia." He said it in Russian not English. If this event really happened it would have been interesting to witness.

Anyway he was murdered by men in the government who wanted to get rid of him. First they tried to poison him but that didn't take so they shot him twice and he was still alive, They thought he was the devil in human form because he would not die. So they beat him and shot him a third time before they castrated him and threw into a freezing river. His castrated body was pulled from the river and the autopsy revealed the cause of death as hypothermia.

According to one article the penis has had quite a journey, it spend sometime in Paris with a group of Russian woman who kept it in a wooden casket and worshipped it. Then turned up in California and now is on display in a glass jar of formaldehyde. Hoax or Not it was purchased by the museum for 8,000 dollars.
