I had just mastered my Instagram brows, too.

Recently we asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to share their unpopular beauty opinions. These were some of the most (un)popular responses:

We want to note that these are just SOME people's unpopular opinions around beauty; however, do what makes YOU happy and what makes you feel beautiful.

1. Matte liquid lipsticks:

"In my opinion, ultra-drying matte liquid lipsticks just makes your lips look ugly and chapped."

"I hate those big brows. If they are natural and shaped really well, then that's good. If they have to be drawn on and look like giant Nike signs, then no."

"So many girls I know and most of the ‘beauty influencers’ on Instagram have it done. It looks like you got a bee sting on your mouth, it doesn’t look natural, and it’s the most obvious thing to identify that someone’s had done. Their lips stick out unnaturally and look swollen, and not in a good way. Stop it!"

"Over the top fake lashes/lash extensions freak me out. I live in Frankfurt and that trend is CRAZY around here, but I've seen it everywhere on Instagram. I often wonder how these girls can even keep their eyes open because that stuff looks super uncomfortable."

"I think people need to stop being so pessimistic towards people who have plastic surgery and start looking at why they had it and trying to help them feel comfortable with themselves without having to change themselves. Everyone deserves to love themselves, preferably without cosmetic surgery, but if they want it it’s their choice, there is no need to be horrible about it."

"I dislike nude makeup. If I am paying $30 for a lipstick, you best believe that color gotta show! Don’t shy away from color in your makeup, people! Rock that red lip and make your eyes pop with some baller eyeshadow. But please, no more nude makeup."

I am the type of person who follows makeup releases, and neutral and even warm-tone palettes have gotten real repetitive and boring. They are now just cash grabs. Makeup brands need to branch out and stop putting out the same 15 colors over and over again."

"I think people go overboard with contour. When you watch makeup videos on YouTube, it looks good on them because they are sitting in front of glaring ring lights. In real life, it always looks too harsh and is rarely blended properly. A little dusting of bronzer on the perimeter of your face is all you need or just go without any contour/bronzer. Either option is better than looking like someone smeared mud on the sides of your face."
