Sephora Came Out With A New Clean Skincare Drop, And Y'all, IT'S GOOOOOD

We all want great skin without breaking the bank. I get it.

Hey y'all, I'm Jamé! One of the things I absolutely love about my job is trying out new beauty products as they hit the market and seeing what's hot and what's, well, not.

But I have to admit, I don't like spending a ton of money on skincare products, even though I know it's extremely important. I'm fake bougie with my routine. So when Sephora Collection announced they were dropping new clean skincare items, AND everything was under $20, ya girl HAD to check it out.

For reference, I have combination-oily skin and I work in NYC (hello, air pollution). Plus I do events, speaking engagements, happy hours with friends, alladat. That means that for me, hydrated and moisturized skin are key. I want to look like I have baby-soft skin 24/7 and pretend that I look this good just from drinking my water and minding my business.

I also think a lot more of us are looking for products with natural ingredients, because who wants all them chemicals you can't even pronounce on your face?! NOBODY, that's who.

But okay, here are my thoughts on this line that I got to try out ahead of its drop:

The Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover isn't new, but this is the "clean" version, and I'm a fan.

This eye makeup remover actually has cornflower in it, so it removes all makeup. Yep, even the waterproof kind! It also notes that the formula contains 92% natural ingredients, which is amazing and absolutely noteworthy.

I want to stop the show and also mention that I accidentally got some in my eye, and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't burn and make me want to pull my eye out. Rejoice!

I personally really liked how light and airy the formula felt, even though I know that it's breaking down the oils on my face. It's not a gunky makeup remover, and it was a product I feel works great in the summer. I gave this a go after a long night of intense partying, and it got all of my mascara off. I'd even put this in my bag and touch up under my eyes or wherever my makeup is smearing. Totally worth it, especially for $11.

The Organic Cotton Pads aren't new either, but they ARE eco-certified (yaaass) and made with organic cotton. Plus, they're puppy approved.

The bag (box?) came with 50 pads in it, which really makes it 100 pads since I like to cut them in half and store the other half for later. For $3.50, I couldn't argue with 100 uses for a product.

The real kicker though is how they FEEL. They felt thick but still breathable, and they do breakdown if you pull them apart. I didn't have to worry about putting anything on the pad and feeling like it was going to seep through, you know like some cotton pads that you just sit there and wonder, "What am I supposed to put on this thing?" Also, I've been using these to blot my sweat while traversing the NY trains, and I have to say, they are a winner in my book.

The Firming Sleeping Cream doubles as my day and night cream, and I feel like a wealthy woman spending all her husband's money.

This stuff, y'all. Whew. So first of all, the cream contains AHA (alpha hydroxy acids), which are great for exfoliating and smoothing your skin. Even when I hit stubborn breakouts throughout the week from stress (and stress eating), this product immediately helped my skin feel smoother and hydrated. Also with the peptides, it naturally tightens the skin, which made me feel like I was having a bit of an extra contour just on the daily!

Now, this product says it's for night, but I found myself reaching for it night and day. It was thick enough to put on at the end of the night, as my last step in my skincare regimen. But it was also light enough that I could put it on in the morning and not feel like my face was weighed down. How Sephora did it, IDK. Magic to me. The consistency feels like a whipped soufflé or something, but it's Heaven and I can't put it down.

This moisturizer helped me out a lot with my foundation and kept my oily skin at bay.

In the summer, I'm not really the biggest fan of makeup because I sweat SO much. Usually I put my liquid foundation aside and pull out something like a tinted powder and call it a day! Well, when I tried this moisturizer, I was a bit apprehensive — I mean, how many products promise to "mattify" our faces, amirite?

I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! Even though I did still get oily throughout the day, I noticed a tremendous difference on how bad my oil was AND how my makeup held up without me priming first. On the package, it says you can use this as a moisturizer and a primer before applying your foundation — so when I put it on, I immediately felt like it was filling in my pores and giving me a smooth layer to work with.

I do want to also note that as someone with sensitive skin, I was SCARED about using a few of these products because they are lightly scented. But low and behold, they didn't give me any problems!

This exfoliating scrub was gentle on my skin and easy to clean, and I have to say, this was a guaranteed winner in my book.

Even though it's an exfoliant, it's not grainy at all. In fact, it has 97% natural original ingredients, including volcanic sand (which helps exfoliate), and marula oil (which smooths out your skin.

I've actually never tried an exfoliant mask like this before. It's EXTREMELY lightweight, almost like the weight and feel of a moisturizer. I was pretty surprised, considering many exfoliants can feel thicker and heavier. All I remember was feeling the small little grains as I washed it off. I was shook.

I love to exfoliate at least twice a week. It removes the dead layer of skin, which not only makes your makeup go on better, but it also gives new life to your skin! This exfoliating scrub worked well on my sensitive skin and didn't leave my face red and irritated. Pesky breakouts also popped up throughout this whole experiment, so I'm happy to say that my skin actually improved after a few days of trying this out.

Overall, I can't complain at all about this line. The products are great for the person looking for natural ingredients, the person who likes a "no-fuss" skincare regimen, and the person who is trying to work it on a budget! Five STARS!!! So, who's checking these bad boys out?!
